Kampung Tour and River Cruise
Previous post: Check in to Pulai Desaru Beach Resort and Spa
Still remember I mentioned about the activities we can do at Desaru? There are tours and excursions offered by the resort to the guest and our next arrangement after checked in was kampung tour/lunch and river cruise afterwards.
Sam singing for joy on the way to the kampung, she definitely in good mood!
The Rumah Tok Penghulu(House of the village’s head), where we had our lunch.
Scenery around the kampung.
Preparation for the lunch.
Our “five course” Malay lunch comprised curry fish, stir fried vegetables, ikan masin, ayam goreng kampung, godok pisang and sambal.
My plate of everything, simple but tantalizing~
The awesome sambal, pungent and lent a punchy kick to the feast!
One of the interesting part of the kampung lunch ~ eat with your fingers, it was difficult but sure a great experience!
Wash your hand before digging in!
The best demonstration by Mr. Sunny on how to eat with your fingers and enjoy it!
Finger licking good huh everyone? lol
After the authentic Malay meal the kids spent time playing around the kampung area and guess what they found some chickens and start chasing after them!
Group photo of the kids that sweat a bucket under the scorching sun 😛
My almighty Sam holding up the coconut!

Continue to our next excursion, the river cruise.
The floating restaurants.
Wear on the life jacket and the journey begun!
The mangrove swamp and the river scene.
We all enjoyed the river breeze but could be better if the weather is not too hot 😛
Sam reluctant to wear the life jacket at first but I’m glad that she enjoyed the boat ride after awhile.
Other than the aforementioned activities, one can also request for arrangement for tours like fireflies tour, fruit farm tour or a visit to crocodile farm or Nelayan Tanjung Balau Museum (at certain charges). For more information, please kindly contact the Sports & Recreation Desk @ +607-8222222.
