Flying Noodles @ Underground Société, Bandar Sunway
If you are as gullible as me, you will think Houdini is the chef at Underground Société.
I’m referring to the most trended foodie treasure in town at the moment. It’s Flying Noodles! Being a responsible and up to date food blogger (ehem…), I knew this was something I had to check out for myself the gimmick behind this mysterious “Flying Noodles”.
Brimming with curiosity we ventured to Underground Société at Bandar Sunway to find out the “trick” of the “Flying Noodles”! Under the same management of Coffee Société and Garage 51, Underground Société (US) play a different role with its sister establishments. This place not only offers a full-fledged food and beverages menu but also extensive selection of cocktails, mocktails, wine, beer and even champagne.
Nestled amongst car accessories shops and automobile repair shops, this bistro has a really discreet signboard with only the US wording stated and some artistic drawing. We had hard time figured out where’s the door leading to the dining area too. ~>_<~ This sound ridiculous but it really happened to us!
It is a rather dimly lighted space filled with wooden tables and metal chairs. The urban industrial setting with concrete wall, dark ceiling, contemporary murals in monochrome as well as the use of wood and steel trims cozy up the overall feel.
Fruit Punch (RM18.00)
Root Beer Float (RM14.00) & Orange Juice (RM15.00)
Sam was fascinated by the magic Flying Noodles! This is by far the best definition of Insta-worthy food I must say. ^__*
Ok, why the noodles fly? I’m not going to reveal the trick here, I’ll leave it to you to find out for yourself!
Mushroom Soup with Garlic Bread (RM16.00)
Big portion and well executed in terms of flavors, the earthiness of the mushrooms was comforting. I thought the consistency could be a little bit thicker, no fault here but just more of a matter of preference.
Crispy Chicken with Kimchi Bao (RM11.00)
Sandwiched in between soft fluffy buns, the combination of crispy fried chicken fillet and appetizing kimchi indeed works well together.
We also had one of the chef’s recommendation, Grain-fed Australian Beef Tenderloin. The beef was tender but still had a good bite in the meat and the seasoning was minimal to showcase the original flavor of it. The accompanied Robert sauce was complex in flavors, savory, peppery and sweet, great to amp up the flavors of the beef.
Verdict: The Flying Noodles certainly scores point for its novelty, one will get a very instagrammable photo or video that earns LIKES from your followers! Flavors was decent but lack of something that really wowed us. I was attracted by their innovative brunch menu as well as special drinks with quirky and eye-catching presentation which I saw many patrons had them throughout our dinner.

I am very impressed with what you have shared about this unique place. I like their wall papers and even food presentation. This flying noodles idea may be a common sight in the ramen restaurants in Japan but this one uses noodles instead. Kudos!!
Ramen shop at Japan got this “stunt”? I never see any people share about it but this Flying Noodles is from Singapore, from what I’ve read in some articles~
When you said flying noodles, I was expecting the noodles to be flying through the air…like the flying wantan noodles I’ve eaten….haha! 😀 This one should be called standing noodles. My guess would be that the chopsticks is part of a standing contraception (some kind of a stick) arising from the dim sum basket and the noodles are just draped over it to hide the standing contraception! ^_*
You so pannai, you’ve guessed it correctly the trick!
That one u mentioned is another flying noodles too and you know what, I’ve seen flying vegetables too at Thailand! The chef throw the cooked vegetables into the air and the waiter “collect” it with a plate!
I thought there’s flying chicken….but flying vegetables! O_o What happens to the sauce? The vegetables must be very dry then, not nice….kekeke! 😀
I never thought of the sauce though, haha!
This is the video I found in youtube LOL

Steak looks amazing! That’s very affordable for the price of Rm 45!
Yes, decent portion for that price.
Interesting. The food looks quite decent.
Will you go & try the flying noodles? hehe ^__^
