Restoran KKS 食家庄 @ Kampung Bukit Tinggi, Bentong
My family had a get-together + short staycation on last Christmas day and we stopped by Bukit Tinngi for lunch before checking in to our Airbnb.
Restoran KKS 食家庄, is one of the many restaurants in this small town at Bentong, near Genting Highlands. The dining area is an open space with simple round tables and plastic chairs were well arranged adherence to the SOPs with a lot of room between the tables.
Outdoor seating close to the nature, surrounded by a pond and lush greenery.
Familiar Dai Chow dishes dominated the menu and the selections are peerlessly extensive with pork, chicken, fish, prawn, clams, squid and vegetables cooked in different styles. Menu is fully in Chinese, for those who can’t read Chinese might ask for recommendations from the lady boss.
Shiong Tong Lala (Small-RM25.00)
There were generous amount of fresh and plump Lala (clams) as well as shredded woodear fungus bathed in the pool of Chinese rice wine infused superior soup, further spiced up with julliened ginger. However the flavour was rather disappointing as I tasted a mild bitterness in the broth.
Honey Glazed Deep Fried Pork Belly (Small-RM18.00)
Crunchy deep fried pork belly slices coated with moreish sweet sticky sauce, a dish that never cease to please my palate.
French Beans with Pork Belly (Small-RM20.00)
Didn’t expect that the pork belly in this dish was similar with the thin sliced deep fried pork belly like the previous dish. =.=” I enjoyed the crunchiness of the French Beans and the pork belly cooked in savoury sweet sauce nonetheless.
Salt and Pepper Sotong (Small-RM25.00)
The taste of this salt and pepper squid was as pale as its look. The batter was bland tasting and soggy, this definitely not the salt and pepper dish that I was expecting.
Foo Yong Omelet (Small-RM15.00)
Nothing to shout about, LOL.
♥Verdict: The food here is less exciting and there are more good options in this area like THIS and THIS.

Nampak sedap but.. pahang is a bit far :/
KY, not far lah, it’s atBukit Tinggi saja~~~
Ok woh.. bout 20+ mins drive nia.. faster than go sunway/subang… gogogo
I can see why the salt & pepper squid wasn’t to your liking as the batter seem to be falling off and didn’t adhere to the sotong. I gather that pork belly must be one of your family’s favourite protein…..hehe! 😉
Kris, what a sad looking dish…. LOL
I can’t say you’re 100% correct because Sam & hubby only like crispy thin pork belly like this dish, others dishes with fatty fat layer, they are not really fancy.
That place looks familiar to me. I love eating at the many restaurants around Bukit Tinggi on my way to Raub. The prices are always reasonable or cheap too.
I like their fresh vegetables.
TM, long time no see! Hope you’re getting better now and glad to see you back to visit my blog!
