Yen Can Cook ~ Soy Sauce Pork Belly
A quick and easy dish that can be ready in 10 minutes and it needs only 4 ingredients! This surely a keeper because no one wants to spend the evening in the kitchen during the week!
Ingredients (Serve: 3-4)
700-800g pork belly, skin removed & thinly sliced (roughly 0.5cm thickness)
Tips: Freeze the pork belly till slightly harden to make the meat slicing easier. Check out HERE.
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
1/2 tablespoon sugar
Sesame seeds for garnishing (optional)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 1: Pat dry the pork belly slices with kitchen towels.
Step 2: Heat up the wok/skillet, put in the sliced pork belly (Step 1), try to spread out the pork belly slices into a single layer in the work. Pan fry till golden brown on both sides.
Note: No cooking oil is added because pork belly will release oil.
Step 3: Pour out the excessive oil and leave some oil on the wok/pan. Add in soy sauce and dark soy sauce, stir fry to mix and let the meat are evenly coated with the mixture. Add in sugar and continue to stir fry for another 1 minutes. Make sure cook in medium heat to avoid burning.
Step 4: Adjust the taste by adding extra soy sauce and sugar.
Step 5: Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
HAPPY COOKING! #stayhealthy #staysafe
Haha, this is what I do with leftover siew yoke too (not self-made pork belly-lah :D) when I stir-fry with say long beans, I use dark and light soy as well.
