Since I start cooking, dishes that appear frequently on my dining table definitely are braised meat (both chicken and pork) because they are so easy to prepare and go really well with rice.

Ingredients

Pork belly (600g)

Garlic (6 cloves)

Spring onion (2 stalks)

Ginger (1 small piece) ~ optional

Water (1500 CC)

Soy sauce (1 tablespoon)

Dark soy sauce (1/2 tablespoon)

Salt (1/2 teaspoon)

Sugar (1 teaspoon)

Cooking oil (1/2 tablespoon)

Rice wine (1 tablespoon)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 1: Cut pork belly into roughly 1 inch thick.
Step 2: Cook a pot of water, add in the pork belly and bring to boil for a minute or two. Remove the pork and set aside. (This step is to remove the blood water of the pork)
Step 3: Heat some cooking oil on a frying pan, add in garlic, spring onion and ginger then cook until fragrant. Pour all the ingredients into a pot and add in water, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, rice wine, sugar, salt and pork belly (step 2). Cook with high heat till boil then turn to small heat simmer for 40-50 minutes or until the gravy is thicken. Taste and add salt if necessary.
Optional:-
I add in hard boiled egg for a more wholesome dish, put in at step 3 too.
