Go Thai @ SS2, Petaling Jaya
Blame the weak performance of our currency, my shopping + makan trip to Bangkok has to postpone until further notice (by my “boss”) 🙁 To compensate my disappointment, I was brought to Go Thai located at SS2 that serves Thai street food. #soeasytobesatisfied?
Nestled near those durian stalls at SS2, Petaling Jaya, you will be greeted by staffs busy preparing the food at the open kitchen right at the entrance.
Oh did I tell Go Thai serve pork? Those huge pork legs was spotted once we stepped into the restaurant, so enticing.
This place is rather small and tables are placed quite close to each others. The main illumination came from the natural sunlight penetrate from the entrance paired with simple lighting in yellowish hue.
The beverage counter is neatly filled with colourful bottled drinks.
Go Thai’s menu is pretty simple and straight forward, all written on whiteboard placed at the beverage counter. If you expect Thai dishes such as Thai green curry, Thai style steamed fish or other seafood dishes, his place will stray you fr away from that.
A common condiment jars on every table consist of fish sauce, chili flakes, sugar and pickled chili.
Kek Hwney (RM 4.00) & Coca Cola (RM 4.00)
Moo Ping (RM 10.00 / 3 sticks)
One of my purpose for this visit to Go Thai. The charcoal grilled pork fillet was fantastic with aromatic smoky flavor, succulent and tender. The sweet and savory marinade made these skewers extra moreish, simply a classic Thai street food that available at every nook and cranny in Thailand.
Khao Kha Moo (RM 9.00)
Another reason that tempts me for this visit! The pork leg was braised till tenderly soft which literally melt-in-your-mouth. It was served with white rice, pickled vegetables, blanched vegetables and halved braised egg. For the price I’ve paid, I am totally satiated with the portion and flavors.
Moo thod khatiam (RM 9.00)
This was initially hubby’s order but Sam finished is after her first bite. The pork slices were coated evenly with delicious garlic sauce with hint of sweetness. Served with white rice topped with fried egg.
Pad Ga Prow Moo (RM 9.00)
This is minced pork with chili, Thai holy basil, onion and finely chopped long beans. Well infused with pleasant flavors of spiciness and spices which went really well with the white rice. Beware of the tiny bird’s eye chili which look like the chopped long bean, definitely not for the faint-hearted.
Look who is here? Little Dumbo lead you the way to washroom 🙂
By the way my dear hubby, I still want my Bangkok shopping trip nonetheless blek~~~
Verdict: If you are looking for reasonably priced non-halal Thai street food, Go Thai definitely would do you fine.

I like the grilled pork skewer here. I like ChaTraMue Milk Tea better tho. Have you heard of this brand? They have about 30 outlet in Thailand and just recently open third outlet in Plaza Low Yat. Currently have outlets in IOI City Mall, Putrajaya and Berjaya Times Square,KL as well. Love the aroma, strong tea flavour and the original Thai taste. #ChaTraMue
Thanks for your recommendation, will try it out if I happen to be at that area~
