Ee Chinese Cuisine Mooncake 2015
Time flies and it’s Mid-Autumn Festival just around the corner. Gather your loved ones and savour a medley of exquisite mooncakes by Ee Chinese Cuisine at the Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya from now till 27 September. Ee Chinese Cuisine presents their array of scrumptious classic baked and snow skin selections featuring classic all- time favorites and a few new flavours.

Savor the traditional Baked Assorted Fruits & Nuts, Lotus Paste with Single/Double Yolk, Red Bean Paste, Pure Lotus Paste and Jade Custard. Mini Snow Skin Series offers Crystal Purple Sweet Potato Paste, Green Tea Paste with Single Yolk, Crystal BrownSugar Ginger Tea Longan Paste and Durian Paste.
Crystal Durian Paste (冰皮鲜肉榴梿月饼)
As an avaid durian fan, I can’t resist the temptation when the dainty Musang King durian mini snow skin was brought to our table. This premium limited edition mooncake is made with fresh Musang King pulp, the aroma and flavour are unquestionably intense and electrifying!
Moving towards the healthier side definitely the latest trend in F&B scene. Ee Chinese Cuisine putting their effort by preparing some healthy version of fillings to their mooncakes ranging from Six Coarse Grains, Red Dates, Sweet Potato and Ginger Tea.
Crystal Brown Sugar Ginger Tea Longan Paste (冰皮红糖姜茶桂圆月饼) (New)
The subdued gingery taste did provide more layers of flavors to the longan paste. I adore the unique aroma that lingered in my oral cavity, very comfortable indeed.
Six Coarse Grains Lotus Paste (养生六殼粗粮莲蓉月饼) (New)
Consists of 6 types of essential nuts such as peanuts, walnuts, almonds, pistachios, sesames and melon seeds which are rich in Omega 3 and monounsaturated fatty acids that lower body cholesterol.
Red Dates Lotus Paste (养颜红枣莲蓉月饼) (New)
Red dates are widely use by Chinese especially for soup boiling, they not only provide a lovely sweetness to the broth but also proved to improve immunity and decrease the level of cholesterol in our bloodstream which helps to protect the liver. The red dated infused lotus paste packs a pleasant sweetness flavor and I’m glad that it is not sickening sweet.

Jade Custard (翡翠奶王月饼)
Definitely can’t miss are the classic flavors such as Lotus Paste with Single/Double Yolk, Red Bean Paste, Pure Lotus Paste and Jade Custard.
Apart from the mooncakes sampling, we were glad to indulge in some of the signature dishes from Ee Chines Cuisine that evening.
Ee Deluxe Combinations
We were in awe when we saw the waiter approached our table bringing the dish with a “smoking” teapot. It was an interesting platter that consisted Cheesy Baked Scallop, Deep-fried Stuffed Boneless Chicken & Fish Paste Roll.
Stole the limelight was this cheesy baked scallop served on a earthware teapot. Slathered with thick and creamy cheese sauce then baked till golden finish, the fresh huge scallop accompanied by diced avocado were tasted excellent in terms of flavors and texture. Definitely a five-star enjoyment on each bite!
The colourful layers of chicken skin, fish paste, seaweed, salted egg yolk and almond flakes had made it a unbeatable combination that drawn you back in for another serving. A lot of tedious works were involved before this good looking dish served on our table include deboning a chicken down to its skin and layering the different ingredients on the skin. Thumbs up for the hard work of the chef and kitchen team.
The fish paste roll was slightly mediocre if compare with the former dishes but I like the crispy and moreish outer skin which I can’t figure out what it was made with.
Double-boiled Sharksbone Soup
Soup dishes as Ee Chinese Cuisine always bring great contentment for me and there was no exception too this time. The intensely flavored broth from the hours of shark and chicken bones boiling was full bodied but not heavy on the lips. Also spotted in the soup were fish maw and a prettily shaped prawn wonton.
Mooncakes are on sale at Ee Chinese Cuisine @ Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya from 17th August – 27 September 2015 for take away and dine-in as well. Customization mooncake packages included personalized tags attached to the carrier bags with company name, logo and “with compliments” greeting line could be made available upon request with minimum order of 15 boxes. I especially love the mini snow skin mooncakes, so pretty in pastel colours!
First time I’ve seen fish head beehoon done with Marble Goby…this is an “atas” version, I guess! 😉 I would sure love that!
Definitely a higher level of fish head beehoon but a bit wasted as Marble Goby tasted best with just steam it 🙂
