Sek Wai Tin @ Taman Perindustrian Ehsan Jaya, Kepong
Nestled in an industrial park near my neighbourhood, Sek Wai Tin is quite popular among the residents here, judging from the robust dinner crowd during our visit.
We waited for 20 minutes to be seated and order was efficiently taken during the waiting period. The restaurant was spacious and brightly lit with rather new furnishing, completed with simple round tables and chairs.
Sek Wai Tin’s extensive menu covers all those popular Chinese Dai Chow dishes including pork, chicken, seafood, vegetables, bean curd and egg dishes. They also offer light bites such as Jellyfish Salad, Sesame Prawn Rolls, porridge (Emperor Porridge), fried rice and fried noodles. Price ranging from RM15.00 to RM85.00 per dish.
Salted Egg Fried Salmon Skin (Small – RM15.00)
Crunchy fried Salmon skin lusciously coated with sandy aromatic salted egg yolk sauce, studded with curry leaves and chili bites, a dish that never fail to be a crowd pleaser for everyone of all ages.
Ginger Spring Onion Lala (Small – RM25.00)
Cooked with savoury ginger spring onion sauce, the clams were delicious with hint of nutty note of fermented bean paste. Portion was rather small and the flesh was not as plump as I would have hoped.
Celery Pork Neck (Small – RM25.00)
Tender pieces of pork neck cooked with celery, carrot and canned straw mushroom.
Chinese Yam Stir Fry (Small – RM25.00)
Comprised of Chinese Yam (Shanyao or Japanese name nagaimo), baby corn, celery (yes, celery overdosed >_<), lotus root, carrot, sugar snap pea, assorted mushrooms and pine nuts, the dish with multitude of textures indeed quite delightful to be savoured.
White Rice (RM2.00)
♥Verdict: Dining environment and ambiance was good, service was prompt too. Food wise, the dishes we ordered were above average but the price was a bit on higher side for Chinese Dai Chow restaurant standard.

since i live in sri petaling, kepong is like another universe away, but i’d certainly bookmark this place if it were in my neighbourhood 🙂
Sean, vice versa, Sri Petaling is not an area that I always venture to 😛 But definitely don’t mind to pay a visit as there’re numerous of eateries at Sri Petaling.
All the dishes you ordered are so “ching” and healthy…..I like…..except for the salted egg fish skin, of course, but we all need something crispy (and unhealthy) in our lives….for balance! ;D
Kris, now only I realize that the dishes I ordered were so “healthy”, haha! That fish skin was additional order after hubby saw in on other people’s table =.=”
All those dishes ngam me, maybe except for the lala. I always feel that we pay so much, only for the shells. LOL!
PH, exactly! The lala, shells more than flesh, better buy at market and cook myself >_<
