Yen Can Cook ~ Apple Roasted Chicken Wings

Imagine juicy roasted chicken wings served with meltingly delicious apple sliced. This is today’s recipe of Apple Roasted Chicken Wings.

The natural gravy / juices that come from roasting chicken wings was beautifully infused into the soften apple, so divine~~

Ingredients (Serve: 3-4)

700g-800g chicken wings (wingettes or drumettes)

2 red apples, sliced

Marinade

1/2 apple, blended into puree

3 tablespoons soy sauce

4 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoon mixed herbs

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 1: Wash, drain and pat dry the chicken wings. Score the chicken wings on each side.
Step 2: In a ziplock bag, add in all ingredients of marinade, put in chicken wings (Step 1) and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Step 3: Line the baking tray & preheat oven at 200℃.
Step 4: Rinse off the mixed herbs on the chicken wings because they are easily burnt when roasting. Arrange the sliced apple on the baking tray, then followed by marinated chicken wings. Roast for 20 minutes or until fully cooked & browned, flip the chicken wings in between.
Step 5: Serve with desired dipping sauce.
HAPPY COOKING!  #stayhealthy #staysafe
  • Apple roasted, that’s new to me! I think need to go with apple cider 😛
  • Ai, did you say rinse off the mixed herbs from the chicken wings? Wouldn’t that mean you rinse off the rest of the marinade too (since the herbs are mixed in with the marinade)? Like that, what’s left to flavour the chicken then during the baking process? I’ve not baked with apples before (and they look soft and sweet), so I might want to try this.
    • Kris, yes, slightly rinse off the herbs or simply scrap them off using your hand/spoon. The marinade has already penetrated into the meat if you marinated them long enough (overnight), because mine were rather flavourful and satisfying.
