Yen Can Cook ~ Oyster Sauce Chicken

If you’re working mother like me who always short on time but never short on things to do, today’s family-approved recipe of Oyster Sauce Chicken that’s perfect as quick meal over rice definitely leaving you time to uncork a bottle of wine and relax. (* ̄0 ̄*)ノ口


 

Ingredients (Serve: 3-4)

12 chicken wings/1-1.2kgs of chicken, cut into chunks

4 cloves garlic, sliced

1/4 thumb-sized ginger, sliced

Cooking oil

Chopped spring onion for garnishing (optional)

Sauce

2.5 tablespoons oyster sauce

1/2 tablespoon dark soy sauce

1/2 tablespoon Chinese cooking wine

1/2 teaspoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon sugar

150ml water

Step 1: In a bowl, combine all ingredients of sauce, mix well and set aside.

Step 2: Heat cooking oil in the wok, sear the chicken wings until browned on both sides, move the chicken to the side and add in the ginger and garlic, saute till fragrant. 

Step 3: Add in the sauce mixture (Step 1), bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes with low heat, with lid covered. Open the lid and continue to cook to thicken the sauce to your preferred consistency.

Note: Add more water for a more saucy finish.

Step 4: Garnish with chopped spring onion and serve.
