Previous Post: Starbucks Bing Sutt @ Duddell Street, Central, Hong Kong

It was my last night at Hong Kong and I’ve arrange a meeting with my cousin, Kelvin who currently working at Hong Kong. We met up at Avenue of Stars @ Tsim Sha Tsui after the stunning “A Symphony of Lights” multimedia show. (Photo to be shared in next finale post)

From the Avenue of Stars we were brought to IFC Mall (International Finace Centre) for dinner. Without knowing what we will have until we reached a quite posh looking restaurant ~Tasty (IFC) Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop, wow thanks Kelvin for being so thoughtful knowing that we have yet try the authentic Hong Kong dim sum here! We queued for a good few minutes for the seats and I was pretty anticipated for the meal after I noticed this!

Recommended in the Michelin Guide 2012, don’t play play ~~

The restaurant was full and there was a constant stream of customers throughout the night.

The restaurant boosts a mixture of modern and Oriental interior with ancient vases being “hang” above our heads and Chinese motif wall paper adorning the walls.

The menu.

Our order came in a jiffy, the prompt and attentive service definitely a plus point despite the restaurant was packed to the brim that night.

Har Gau (Prawn Dumpling)

Encasing with fresh whole prawn however the skin was slightly too thick.

Minced Meat and Century Egg Congee

An almost perfect porridge for me & hubby. Not absolutely perfect but close enough, velvety smooth porridge was neither too thick nor watery, it barely need any additional soy sauce or pepper for seasoning as it was flavorful enough on its own.

Char Siew Bao (BBQ Meat Bun)

Light and fluffy skin with decent sweet char siew filling.

Lao Sar Bao (Egg Custard Bun)

IMG_5198

Look at the oozing out “liquid” salted egg yolk custard filling, every bite sent my mouth & brain into “food orgasm”, no kidding!

Chives and Prawn Dumpling

Zhar Liong (Chinese Crullers Wrapped with Rice Sheet)

IMG_5200

A thin translucent rice sheet enveloped around a crunchy yao zhar guai.

IMG_5201

A dipping consists of peanut sauce and sweet sauce.

IMG_5193

Glutinous Rice

The glutinous rice was steamed to perfection, soft without being too mushy.

Ham Sui Kok

IMG_5206

A crispy light outer and soft-chewy inner for the dumpling skin with savory meat filling.

We had a good catch up over the satiated dinner and left with a satisfied and bloated tummy. Thanks again Kelvin for the treat, hope can see you soon in coming Chinese New Year!
