BBQ Gangnam Korea @ Low Yat Plaza

We were at Low Yat Plaza a few months ago to run some errands and we settled our quick dinner here too.  F & B choices is quite limited at this IT mall and we opted for my favourite Korean food at restaurant BBQ Gangnam Korea located at the secluded corner of lower ground floor.

The interior of the restaurant is relatively simple, wooden furniture with a huge LCD TV on the exposed bricks wall. Do you notice something is missing? Ya, there is no ventilation hose which is commonly found at any Korean restaurant =.=”

Probably the only decoration in the restaurant ~ the chalkboard with simple drawing.

While there was no many indoor seats available, there were a few tables placed at corridor for those who prefer outdoor dining.

We had their special promotional BBQ Pork Set (RM 43.90+) which can shared by 2-3 persons and the set consisted of:-

Refillable green tea

2 types of side dishes (banchan) which were not impressive at all 🙁

 Vegetables and kimchi

They are using electrical grill for the BBQ which I found the smoke is lesser if compared with using charcoal.

Sliced pork belly, very thin sliced without marinade and the staff help us on the grilling.

Really not much to be shared by 3 of us (included Sam) ~>_<~ The texture of the meat was a bit dry due to the thickness (too thin) and the taste was bordered on bland too.

Steamed egg ~ Very bland 🙁

Bean paste soup comprised of clams, potatoes, onion and tofu. This was run-of-the-mill too.

White Rice (RM 4.00+)

The set doesn’t include any rice so we ordered this not-so-reasonably priced white rice separately >.<

Kimchi Pancake (RM 14.90+)

While the dishes above were nothing great to shout about but luckily I added the last order of this kimchi pancake which became our saving grace of that evening ^__* Slightly crispy on the edges and soft with ample amount of kimchi within, pungent and addictive!

Verdict: Definitely not the best Korean food I’ve had and most probably will not return anytime soon.
