Chequers @ TTDI, KL
Chequers located at Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur is made famed for its good selection of American style savoury and sweet waffles.
The simple white themed restaurant exudes a homey and cozy vibe. The ambiance is further elevated by the decoration such as splashes of red on the furniture, framed black and white photographs as well as the “waffle ceiling”.
Al fresco seating
Their full-fledged menu with a list of savoury and sweet waffles, along with salads, soup, pasta, burgers, burritos, main courses, desserts and even made-your-own-waffle.
Quack Quack (RM29.00)
From the savoury waffle offerings, we had this Quack Quack which obviously featuring duck as the main ingredient. The smoked duck had a nice crispy skin and came with generous portion too. I like that we were not served with plain waffles but laced with scallion and chia seeds, for a more textural and flavourful bite. This can be a quite filling dish as the waffles had a dense texture with pleasant browning outer, served with roasted potatoes, sweet potatoes and garlic butter sauce.
Chicken and Waffles (RM27.00)
The next savoury waffle dish was a very princely serving as well, perfect for those with bigger appetite. A big slab of crispy fried chicken and turkey ham sat on pieces of garlic and scallion waffles, topped with melted Mozzarella and Cheddar cheese then generously trickled with cheese sauce. Simple salad and fries completed the dish.
Pomodoro (RM10.00)
They offer kid’s menu at a very affordable price of RM10.00 per item.
Verdict: I like their waffles, well prepared with slightly crisp on the outer and dense on the inner. Portion was big and I’m eyeing on their delectable looking dessert offerings!

My last trip here the only thing I did enjoy were the waffles, not the savoury and sweet components that came along with the waffles unfortunately.
Kris, I refereed back to your post, that berry BBQ sauce + beef combo was weird to me too, haha!
Seem like mine was better, fried chicken or smoked duck + waffle 😛
I need me some quacks too!
KY, hope your quacks doesn’t mean other thing, HAHA!
what else can it mean? o.O
KY, you know one, don’t ke ke 😛
I have heard of this place but never been. Somehow, waffles for me must be with ice cream and not meat or anything savory hah..hah…
PH, never try never know, maybe you will like it ler, hehe 😛
Overpriced swill. Will not be going back.
