Foo Foo Classic Desserts @ TTDI, K.L

Can all my sweet tooth maniacs raise your hands? I myself am guilty of indulging in an endless amount of dessert after every meal. No matter how full you are, there will always be space for dessert. Are we right?  (^▽^)/\(^▽^)

It was an impromptu visit as my birthday treat. Knowing that her wifey is a sugar monster, the hubby wanted to surprise her by bringing her to this reservation-only dessert café on one Saturday afternoon. Luck was on his side as we managed to get a table although he didn’t make any reservation. \(^◇^)/

Walked up the staircase and pushed open the antique door, we were greeted by a restful space with soothing background music. The cafe with gentle soft lighting, embellished with framed artworks, potted plants, as well as a cozy corner filled with books, paintings and a collection of exquisite teapot sets.

Another charming nook featuring mix and match furniture of armchairs for lingering and rattan stools and tables, cabinet filled with nick-nacks accumulated from travels as well as touches of greenery, all the necessary elements for an aesthetically pleasing cafe.

Some merchandises on sale.

The leafy indoor terrace with row of slated window bathed in sunlight is perfect background for your next post on the gram.

Rules of Foo Foo.  (-“-;)

Traditional plated desserts take center stage in the menu, with their homemade ice cream (not in the above printed menu) and good selection of beverages included wines, fruit juices home-brewed Tuak and Mead.

Hot Latte (RM11.00)

Mixed Berries Sorbet (RM10.00)

Intensely flavoured with tartness from the mixed berries, the texture was creamy but wasn’t entirely smooth, with grainy feel on the palate.

There are a list of unique flavours included Black Pepper Mango, Balsamic Vinegar, Chrysanthemum and Ginger.

Passion Berries Pavlova (RM30.00)

The pavlova dessert appealed, with its crisp caramelized meringue shell, encompassing a sweet marshmallow-soft interior. The brilliant touch of acidity from the berries and passion fruit complements perfectly the sweetness of the meringue, adorning an indulgent bed of lime chantilly. It’s an explosion of textures and flavors, each spoon feels like biting into a cloud. You will fall for this dreamy Pavlova.

Verdict: Overall, the price is a little on high side but they commensurate with the quality of the food. I like the cozy ambiance (but read reviews that the place could be a bit noisy when full house) and certainly don’t mind if someone bring me here again for more of those decadent desserts. *hint hint to someone (•ө•)♡

  • I live just few minutes walk away and had been there several times. A very nice place indeed to relax.

Recently a lady made a complaint against them about her own noisy small kids who ran around and jumped about but got told off. The whole FB neighborhood fired her back for being a terrible mother with bad parenting etc etc. The comments reached hundreds and their business became more famous 😂😂😂

    • TM, you must be like their desserts very much that you visited a few time. There are many people out there who don’t know their own problem but always blaming others.

  • Glad to see that they’re still doing so well 7 years on…no reservations needed previously (now a reservation-only place?…but I see a lot of empty tables in your photos! *scratch head*). Their desserts may be pricey but worth it (kudos to them for controlling their prices seeing that they’ve only risen by a few ringgit over the years). I see that they’ve kept some of the items on their menu (the first 4 items) and introduced a few new ones (perhaps time for a revisit). Some of my favourites are still there (like the profiteroles with salted caramel coffee ice cream) but my no. 1 favourite (the mango lychee ice cream with fruit salsa) is no longer there.

    • Kris, perhaps those empty tables are all reserved and the table that we seated was reserved so we only could stay till certain time before the reserved time. This place certainly a place only for special occasion as the price range is beyond our budget to go regularly.

  • Definitely a place to visit for a treat or celebration. I told my brother that we will go somewhere nice when things improve on the home front.
