FRIM Forest Skywalk @ FRIM, Kepong

We finally made it!

We (hubby, daughter & yours truly) made it to the FRIM Forest Skywalk last weekend, a visit that had been on my list for quite some time. Imagine yourself elevated high above the forest floor, with panoramic views that stretch all the way to the Kuala Lumpur skyline—that’s exactly what I experienced.

FRIM Forest Skywalk is located in  Kepong Botanic Gardens (also part of the FRIM, but different entrance). Entrance fee: RM5.00/vehicle & RM1.00/pax

Operation hours and ticket price. It’s recommended to booking your ticket online HERE because there’s a quota for each time slot and the skywalk tower (50m) is restricted to a maximum of 6 persons per slot only.

Reminder: Please bring your MyKad for verification.

The skywalk’s construction began in December 2018 and was completed in 2019. It was opened to the public on 31 August 2020.

The structure was built using aluminum, enforced with steel tubes and supported by guy wires. The Forest Skywalk is made up of 11 towers and 8 bridges, varying in height from 18 m to 50 m with a total length of 250 m

From the ticket counter office, visitors need to walk approximately 100m of wooden pathway to reach the skywalk entrance.

Short briefing by the staff before we started the “adventure”.

Rules and regulations to take note:

  • Only one (1) user is allowed for every two flights of stairs
  • Only up to five (5) users are allowed on the bridge at any one time
  • Visitors are prohibited from:-
  1. Leaning on rails
  2. Assembling on a particular part of bridge
  3. Smoking, running, shaking, jumping, making noise or conducting any disturbance while on the walkway
  4. Destroying, hurting or vandalising natural resources or any parts of the Forest Skywalk Visitors are wholly responsible for their own safety, belongings as well as others while on the Forest Skywalk. FRIM shall not be held liable for any damages, losses or accidents occur.

Yay, the bridge after the first tower (18m height). ( ^∀^)v

This is how the stair looks like. Fully covered like a “cage” with sufficient handrails for safety measurement.

The highest tower is 50m and the top of its watchtower is 141m above sea level.

Note: Additional fees for 50m tower is RM5 with MyKad and RM10 without MyKad. Only visitors of 13 years old and above are allowed to proceed to this 50m tower.

View of the forest and park below as well as the magnificent Kuala Lumpur city skyline. Unfortunately, it was a cloudy day and the sky wasn’t clear enough to get the best view of the city.

To show you how high when we were at the top of the 50m tower. I was so worried that my phone would drop when recording this, hence the super short clip. LOL

Selfie is a must, right?

Verdict: The whole walkway takes 30-40 to complete and no U turn. As someone who loves both fitness and outdoor adventures, the skywalk provided just the right mix of light physical activity and awe-inspiring scenery. The fresh air, the views from the 50-meter tower, and the chance to disconnect from the city made it a perfect family outing.
