HK Porky Noodle House @ SS2, P.J
We were found loitering around at SS2 area to find our dinner one Sunday evening. We decided to try out HK Porky Noodle House solely because there’s a parking lot right in front of the shop. LOL
The shop was bright and the tables were arranged neatly within the dining area. However the unpleasant ‘porky/raw meat” smell that hit me once I stepped into the restaurant rather put me off.
I thought they served some Hong Kong styles noodles because I was misled by their name HK = Hong Kong, and eventually they don’t. They offered pork noodles that we familiar with, as well as Hakka Mee and some snacks.
Pork Noodle Soup – Minced Pork+Slice Pork+Meat Ball (RM11.50)
There were several combinations of ingredients to choose from to go with your choice of noodle (Hor Fun, Meehoon, Yellow Noodle and MiXian) such as minced pork + slice pork (RM8.50), minced pork + slice pork + pork intestine + pork liver + pork stomach (RM9.50), minced pork + slice pork + prawn + squid (RM20.00), Spicy Pork Belly Mixian (RM14.00).
The murky soup was richly imbued with porky essence, robust and flavourful without being stodgy. The ingredients given were generous and completed with the crucial fried pork lard (oil) to enhance the aroma and flavour. I’m happy to see they put vegetables in the noodles too.
Ketogenic Meal – Minced Pork+Slice Pork+Slice Pork Belly (RM20.00)
I rejoiced to find low-carb ketogenic meals were offered in the menu which came with only ingredients and soup without noodles. For the price paid, the portion was persuasively satisfying.
Dry Curry Chicken Rice (RM13.50)
Although it was named dry curry chicken but obviously it wasn’t the dry version that we would have expected. Portion wise, there were a few pieces of chicken and potatoes but the flavour probably need to be improved.
♥Verdict: A worthy addition of pork noodle place other than our usual one but I really hope that they can solve the unpleasant odour problem before my next visit.

Hahaha You were right. It was called dry but it arrived in a bowl full of curry…I can’t imagine what wet curry would be. LOL 😀
Tekkaus, I don’t think there is wet curry lah, haha!
I see you chose the mixian noodles too…the best noodle option here coz other pork mee shops don’t carry this noodle as a choice though the soup can be a bit too robustly flavoured (can have once in a while lah). So, my preference is the one with prawns + squid included as the broth seems lighter and slightly sweeter. And luckily, the branch in my taman doesn’t have that unpleasant pork smell in their premises (I’d hate that too as I once encountered this scenario in a famous prawn noodle shop too…a too intense prawn aroma can end up smelling fishy). >_<
Kris, I’m sensitive with smell, so I almost wanted to leave the restaurant that time.
