Ho Min Shan 好面善 @ The Waterfront, Desa Parkcity
My first try on Ho Min Shan’s food was via food delivery a few months ago when we still in the ‘first’ CMCO. I was pretty impressed with what I had and decided to pay it a visit again.
Ho Min Shan is one of the eateries located on the refurbished first floor of The Waterfront, Desa Parkcity. Other restaurants included Jibby by The Park, Dim Dou Duck, Nauthy Babe Dirty Duck and Moim, just to name a few.
The restaurant in neutral colour theme was in minimalist design, with bright and airy dining area, as well as adhered to proper SOP. Be warned, almost every eateries in this place (The Waterfront, Desa Parkcity) are perpetually packed on weekends, no joke!
As it’s name implies, noodles dishes take centre stage in Ho Min Shan’s menu with wide variety of options for soups (Signature Soup, Teochew Style Preserved Vegetables Soup, Tomato Soup & Mala Soup), noodles choices (Mixian, vermicelli, thick noodles & multigrain noodles) and toppings/ingredients (Hong Kong roasted goose, fried fish fillet, pork belly slices, pork balls, fish paste, braised chicken wings, seafood, pork chop, pork neck, beef brisket, vegetables, mushrooms and many more) Small selection of rice dishes also can be found here if you’re not into noodles.
Note: Ho Min Shan, Min = noodles in Mandarin/Cantonese
Hong Kong Style Dry Noodles with Beef Brisket (RM16.80)
This was what I had on my first try that I have been craving for ever since.
Generously loaded with 4 sizable chunks of braised beef brisket which were scored well in terms of flavours and texture. The meat was tasty with good doses of herbs and spices, as well as with good bite of meat and tendon combination. I especially adored those braised to utterly soft white radish but it could be better if they were braised together with the beef brisket for extra flavours.
Noodle with Pork Belly Slices and Pork Meat Slices in Mala Soup (RM15.80)
The broth had good level of spiciness and tongue-numbing sensation, not to overwhelming with condiments such as peanuts, preserved vegetables, sesame seeds and spring onions.
Noodle with Pork Meatballs in Signature Soup (RM10.80)
Sam’s opted for the simplest soupy noodles with meatballs.
Additional Order Pan Fried Pork Dumplings (RM5.00/2pcs) & Lemon Tea (RM5.00)
Special price for add-on order for any noodles order. Ala cart price is RM5.80 & RM6.50 respectively.
Cooked with steam-fry method to create that crisp bottom crust, the dumplings had good amount of hot broth, so make sure to savor this carefully. The filling was decent, firm with toothsome bite.
Squids with Satay Sauce (RM8.00), Braised Pork Intestine (RM6.00), Braised Mushrooms (RM9.80), Hong Kong Style Braised Pork Ear (RM6.00) were some of the snack choices in the menu.
Two types of chili sauce and I love the right one with really packed a nice fiery punch.
♥Verdict: One of the better noodles place I’ve tried lately and the pricing was affordable too.

ooo, i ordered this on delivery too from mid valley. enjoyed the meal too – the rice with roast goose was worthwhile 🙂
Sean, take note on the roasted goose, perhaps I can try it on my next visit or delivery.
Those noodles look like a cross between our thick wantan mee & hor fun. I’ve heard about their famous dumpling, so thanks for opening it up to give me a peek inside. Haiz, soup noodles via delivery just aren’t as good as eating them on site.
Kris, the thick noodles is more like thick Wonton Mee but softer in texture. I had the dry noodles, so it wasn’t an issue but the soup and the noodles are packed separate for most of the delivery nowadays which doesn’t affect the flavour and texture of the food.
I want those beef brisket tambah meat balls boleh?
KY, you can add on as many ingredients as you like, LOL
