Macau Kopitiam 澳門茶餐室 @ Batu Pahat, Johor
Macau Kopitiam is another highly recommended eatery in Batu Pahat and we had our breakfast here before heading back to KL.
The restaurant was quite packed even on a working day morning (Sunday is a working day in Johor state). Both indoor (air-conditioned) and outdoor seating are available here.
Macau Kopitiam’s extensive menu offers wide variety of toasts and sandwiches with assorted fillings and spreads. There are also a short list of rice and noodle dishes.
Iced 3 Layer Kopi (RM4.50)
Charbroil Mushroom Cutlet Pork Roti (RM8.50)
Macau Kopitiam offers charcoal toasted buns and sandwiches with various combinations of fillings included pork chop, fish fillet, Otak-Otak, hash brown, ham, cheese and omelet, with very wallet friendly price that nothing exceed RM10.
Sandwiched in between two soft well toasted buns were deep fried breaded pork chop and button mushroom in white sauce. The pork chop was just okay, a bit on the dry side. The mushroom (canned type) in white sauce was laced with mild heat from the black pepper, the whole combination was’t bad and either was it outstanding.
Macau Ramen (RM6.50)
Tossed in their house made (mild) spicy sauce with hint of Chinese parsley/coriander flavour, the Ramen was cooked to a right texture and rather delectable. I like the crunchy fried fish sticks and there were fried bean curd sheets hidden underneath the noodles as well.
Verdict: I like the wide varieties of buns and sandwiches offered here. I would be very happy if Macau Kopitiam can open an outlet at my area so I can try different buns for my breakfast. \(^o^)/
