Meat Attic @ Faber Towers, Taman Desa, K.L.

End of year definitely a good timing to to replenish my booze collection with so many warehouse sales or year-end sales like THIS. I recently just watched a Youtube video of  this Wonton Mee which was our perfect lunch place before heading to the warehouse sales, but……… hubby turned down my request like how he usually does and went to Meat Attic instead.  〴⋋_⋌〵

The chiller right in front of the restaurant was well stocked with a good selection of housemade sausages and vacuumed packed various of meat cut that arrests the attention of every patrons.

The deli restaurant has a glass façade all around which makes the whole dining area a sun-bathed and inviting space that I certainly adore. Sheer curtains are used to partition the seating for more privacy.

The menu wasn’t exceptionally extensive with pork dishes took center stage and a small selection of beef, lamb poultry and seafood dishes.

Cappuccino (RM11.00)

Crackling English Roast Pork (RM42.90)

This Sunday Roast is a traditional British meal that typically served on Sunday as a late lunch or early dinner. The dish consists of roasted meat served with accompaniments like Yorkshire Pudding, vegetables, stuffing and gravy.

This weekend special which is only available on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3pm (another dish is Roast Lamb – RM44.90)

The roast pork with beautifully golden and crunchy crackling which provided a satisfying contrast to the tender, juicy meat beneath. There were sides of Yorkshire Pudding, roasted potatoes and green peas. Served with savoury gravy made from meat drippings, as well as tangy apple sauce with subtle sweetness to enhance the natural flavors of the pork.

The Yorkshire Pudding was a letdown. It was extremely greasy with terrifying amount of oil in the hollow shell. The crisp exterior and light and airy interior that I would have hoped were missing as well.

Pan Fried Pancetta (RM33.00)

The Italian cured pork belly was slightly pan fried, despite the thin slices, it packed with strong, savory, and meaty flavor with a hint of spice. Pancetta looks similar to bacon, but with a deeper, richer pork flavor because it’s not smoked. From the choices of side, Sam opted for mashed potato which was well executed, it was velvety creamy with chunks of potatoes hidden within.

Aglio Olio Mushroom (RM26.90)

Didn’t want a meaty meal, I accepted the recommendation from the staff of this pasta dish. It was earthy, well studded with generous amount of mushrooms and packed with robust garlicky flavour with some heat. The texture of the pasta here had a solid al dente bite that I preferred.

Verdict: Meat Attic unquestionably is a place meant for carnivore lovers! Overall, good environment, the food we had was good (except that Yorkshire Pudding =.=”) and the price was reasonable.

  • Nice! I wished there is a restaurant like this in Damansara Uptown LOL! I like what I see on the menu. I have watched Jamie Oliver make Yorkshire pudding. It rises very high up in the oven and then it collapses in a heap! Can’t remember what the ingredients were and why the one you had was so oily. Maybe too much butter?

  • If my hubby turns down my request for wantan mee and goes to a cafe (with more expensive food), I’m more than happy to comply…lol! The English roast pork is pretty expensive (RM42!) for just 2 pcs…that’s why I can’t bring myself to order it (the English version with apple sauce) coz (in my mind) I always compare it with our traditional siu yuk from the siu yuk rice stall which comes at a 1/4 of the price…haha. If you’ve seen Yorkshire pudding being made, you’d be frightened of the amount of oil they use. They pour it into a muffin pan up to 1/3 or 1/2 the way (scary!) before pouring the batter into hot oil. This one is so greasy maybe because the oil was not hot enough.
