Restoran Green View @ Section 19, P.J
We have been passing by Restoran Green View for countless times and its well known Fresh Water Prawn Noodles (Sang Har Mein) is one of the food that on my to-try list. Ta-da! Here came the chance when I was so lucky to be one of the winners of an Instagram giveaway contest which entitled me a live Indonesian Mud Crab worth RM225 at Restoran Green View! :*:。゚*\(*´∀`*)/*゚。*:
Opens its door for more than 30 years, the family favourite restaurant prides itself on seafood dishes, especially the Sang Har Noodles which have perfected over the years. Occupied several shoplots along the street, we were arranged to be seated at this new air-conditioned dining area which is spacious with lots of natural light from the glass windows. There are more seating on the upper floor as well, but I didn’t check it out. The old shop without air-conditioner is located just right beside the live seafood tanks.
Fresh crabs of the day, but they were smaller than the one I had, perhaps different species?
Seafood dishes included lobster, Alaska King Crab, geoduck, oysters, crabs, prawns, assorted fishes, bullfrog and clams take center stage of the menu. Besides that, there are pork, chicken, vegetables and bean curd dishes too.
Seafood are charged according to weight and the prices are clearly stated in the menu.
Indonesian Mud Crab in Sweet and Sour Sauce (RM250.00/kg)
The huge crab was meaty and doused with tangy and lip smacking sweet and sour sauce. It had just the right sweetness and sourness that complemented the crustacea beautifully. I reckon this is really good for mopping up with fried Mantao which was recommended by the staff when we made ordering, but we didn’t get it because it might be too full for us.
Even with the heavy robust sauce, we can also taste the fresh sweet flesh of the crab, sucking every little bit down to its skinny legs. 😛
Crab cracker and gloves are provided but one can also ask for assist from the staff to break the crab legs shell. (^^)b
Sang Har Mee (RM122.50)
1 freshwater prawn (U2/U3) @ RM350.00/kg – 301.73g
The most raved raved dish at Restoran Green View and indeed it deserves the merit. Fresh, large and succulent freshwater prawns are gently poached in eggy superior broth and crowned the crispy fried noodles. It’s beautifully satisfying.
The rich sweetness of the prawn roes is what makes this dish delectable and the kitchen team has certainly whipped up a beautiful one. I adored the savoury egg gravy that coated the noodles into silky slurping goodness. Hints of soothing sweet prawn notes lavished the dish with great opulence.
Yuan Yang Hong Kong Kai Lan (Small – RM32.00)
We had this duo of deep fried HK Kai Lan leave and stir fried HK Kai Lan stems for our vegetable quota that day. We were disappointed by the mild bitterness of the fried leaves and it was rather greasy as well.
Complimentary fruit after we were done with our lunch.
Verdict: For crab lovers, Restoran Green View definitely a good place to satisfy your craving because the crabs are fresh and meaty. Their signature Sang Har Mien, even though the price is on the high side, I would still recommend this place for once in a while indulgence when the pocket permits.

Wah! Lucky you to win an expensive crab. This restaurant is for the seafood lovers, not so much for me since I am more into beef and pork. But if got people belanja, I don’t mind eating crabs and prawns LOL!
PH, I’m not a seafood lover as well (luckily, because they are more expensive than poultry or pork). It had been quite some time I last had crab and this crabby meal definitely brought excitement, especially when it was FREE!
Wah, congratulations on your free crabs…lol! I love a good sang har mee too and haven’t had one in ages. So, only the crab was free…you had to pay for the sang har meen? Actually this sang har meen sauce looks a lot less egg-y than some of the ones I’ve had before. P/S: That crab claw you’re holding is huge! 😉
