River View Seafood Restaurant @ Kuala Selangor
After the visit of Hussin Fauzi Farm, we proceed to Pasir Penambang of Kuala Selangor to have light refreshment as well as some shopping for dried seafood and seafood snacks such as satay fish and sugar cuttlefish. Then we opted to have our early dinner at this River View Seafood Restaurant before our fireflies boat cruise at 7pm.
Diners are welcomed by this big crab statue in front of the restaurant.
The restaurant was full house although it’s not even 5pm! The staff put us in the waiting list and we were seated after 20 minutes. Chairs are provided for the customers in the line.
This restaurant is located beside the Sungai Selangor (Selangor River), the patrons can get the beautiful view of river when they’re dining here.
River View Seafood Restaurant is a pork free restaurant. The full fledged menu is meant to be crowd pleasing with not only the essential seafood dishes (crab, fish, prawn, clams, squid, oyster, cockles, mantis prawns, scallop, and even shark fin and fish maw) but also a good selection of chicken, bean curd, egg, vegetables, rice and noodles dishes. The menu is user friendly and straight-forward with price and portion clearly stated in it, the food photos also make the ordering easier.
Seafood Porridge (1 pax – RM13.00)
Studded with fish fillets, prawns and squid, the porridge was mildly seasoned with the sweetness of the seafood shone through delightfully.
Marmite Prawns (Small – RM27.00)
The prawns were coated with Marmite sauce which was sticky-sweet and salty as it should be (but not overly sweet). The prawns were in good-sized and fresh, we should have ordered a bigger portion. LOL
Sambal Sotong (Small – RM23.00)
The squid was tender enough, cooked in a delicious spicy and sweet gravy. I reckon this would be went well with white rice.
Steamed Egg (RM6.00)
Garlic You Mak (Small – RM9.00)
Both dishes were in decent standard, nothing to shout about.
Verdict: Quite reasonably priced seafood meal I would say. Next time I would like to try their crabs, they looks so enticing in the menu, perhaps come in bigger group to try more dishes. Who are interested to join me?

It’s quite interesting and exciting to visit such places but no kaki to go there. I might have gone to a place like this many years ago with my family and auntie and uncle. But that was before my blogging days, or else I would have documented it.
PH, jio your Lahling for a seafood dinner here which I think he would enjoy it since the food is Chinese style. Then continue with a firefly or even blue tears cruise.
The marmite prawns look delicious but the seafood porridge would be my pick since I’m staying away from sweet sauces.
Kris, no worry, there are many cooking styles for all the seafood which I think there must be something that suit your diet. 🙂
