Say Yes Cafe @ Damansara Utama
I think nobody will disagree If I say that Village Park Restaurant is one of the most renowned restaurant in Damansara Utama/Damansara Uptown, right? Famed for its scrumptious Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng, perpetual queue as well as that bunch of food delivery riders that gather in front of the restaurant. (^◇^)
Recently I was introduced to this Say Yes Cafe which is located not far away from Village Park that serves equally good Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng, minus the crowd. Is this sounds too good to be true?
Nothing much on the decoration, the restaurant was bright and airy equipped with simple wooden tables and chairs.
As you can see, there were not many choices in the menu, which are basically categorized into Pulut (glutinous rice), Nasi Lemak, Chee Cheong Fun (rice noodle roll) and Roti (toast).
Sorry I forgot what is this. (´∀`•)
Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng Berempah (RM11.40)
Arrived with all the trappings needed for a decent plate of Nasi Lemak – coconut milk rice, Sambal, hard boiled egg, cucumber slices, fried anchovies and peanuts.
The Ayam Goreng Berempah was in its most luscious prime with irreproachably golden crispy skin, while the meat remained succulent and moist. The spiced battered skin was ravishingly flavourful and toothsome. I would have hoped there were more crunchy bits.
The rice was well infused with coconut milk and Pandan, aromatic and fluffy, but both hubby and I thought that the rice portion could have been bigger. The Sambal wasn’t too spicy with sweet note. The fried anchovies were nicely crunchy.
Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang (RM11.40)
The Chicken Rendang was thick, creamy and beautifully robust in flavours, it went really well with the rice.
Half Boiled Egg (RM3.00/2 eggs)
Verdict: Definitely a good place for Nasi Lemak! Both Ayam Goreng Berempah and Ayam Rendang that we had were wonderfully executed, I have no hesitation in recommending Say Yes Cafe to satiate your craving.

I checked back my post about Say Yes Cafe and realized that I was there one year ago! I also agree with you that the nasi lemak does not disappoint. I am glad that they maintained their standards.
PH, I’ll definitely will revisit whenever I crave for fried chicken. 🙂
The ayam goreng berempah looks very good….but the ayam rendang looks a bit too reddish to me! 😉 P/S: I really hate it when a shop choose to serve their drinks in disposable plastic cups when they can choose not to and use proper glasses. >.<
Kris, reddish because of more red chili in the spices blend? But anyway, I’m okay with it.
Disposable cups are used because it can be taken out if cannot finish?
Yes la then, next time can try this liao.
KY, yes, I recommend this place if you’re looking for decent Nasi lemak Ayam Goreng Berempah.
Haha! Yes yes! I just walked passed there yesterday after buying Magnum4D. It was full house at lunch hour. I must go and try the nasi lemak next time. I just said Yes!
