Selangor Fruit Valley @ Bestari Jaya, Selangor

Ramadan month definitely a good timing for Cuti-Cuti Malaysia travelling or any activities because the tourist places, shopping malls or even the streets are less crowded and less busy than usual.

To enjoy the advantages of Ramadan, we had our first hiking at Taman Tugu and visited to Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV), which is developed by PKPS (Perbadanan Kemajuan Pertanian Selangor Selangor) or Agricultural Development Corporation.

Located in Bestari Jaya (near Rawang),  this agro-tourism destination is just an hour away from Kuala Lumpur. SFV covers an area of 1,000 hectares featuring a few attractions such as Tropical Fruits Farm, Herbs & Spices Garden, Deer Park, Rabbit Park and Selangor Traditional House.

Ticket Price: Adult (RM15.00), Kids & Senior Citizen (RM10.00)

The ticket price included visit to the aforementioned attractions, tram ride as well as fruit and bottle water (can be collected near ticket counter or the tram station at the entrance).

These are two types of tram that we rode to explore SFV. Look at those happy passengers. ^_^

The first stop was Carambola Pavilion which offers an unobstructed panoramic view of SFV.

Opposite the pavilion is a small garden with a few Instagram worthy spots.

Behind the garden is Herbs & Spices Garden which is filled with assorted of herbs, vegetables, fruit trees, and edible plants.

My lovely family ✿♥‿♥✿

The trees and plants are well labelled and it’s a good opportunity to let the city kids learn about the food that they consume everyday.

A lonely peacock in the garden.

We were given a rather short visiting time at every stop and we needed to get on the tram to the next destination.

Next attraction was Taman Rusa (Deer Park) where the visitors can feed the deer with food given by the staff.

Rabbit Park was our next stop and the kids had fun petting the rabbits, rabbit kits and guinea pigs.

A small bird cage a few parrots.

Hubby was rescuing the goat from the entangled leash that limited its movement. (-‸ლ)

Playground beside the rabbit park but the weather was too hot to play there lah. =.=”

Next was a duck pond with duck eggs and salted eggs were on sale. You can pay to learn how to make salted eggs too.

The pond was so stinky that most of the visitors in our group didn’t want to go near the pond area. (-‸ლ)

Great sunny day for outing! We enjoyed the scenery of the lush greenery, rows of crop and farms of assorted fruits.

After a bumpy but delightful windy ride on the tram, we arrived our last stop of the tour – Selangor Traditional House. It’s a traditional wooden Malay house that raised on stilts high above the ground.

The interior of the house with many antique furniture and fixtures.

The chicken coop and goat shed beside the house.

Our afternoon tea from the food and drink stalls.

Visitors can spend as much time as you want here and we chilled quite long at the balcony area.

♥Verdict: The tour took about 2-2.5 hours, short but rather fun (especially the tram ride) and educational tour for both kids and adult. However, I think it would be better if they didn’t limit the visiting time for each attraction (except the Selangor Traditional House).
