Staycation Singapore

I would never have imagined that the arrival of the first batch of Covid-19 vaccines in Malaysia on Sunday (Feb 21, 2021) would receive much fanfare. Throngs of mainstream journalists covered the events with live streaming coupled with maximum police security.

Perhaps the arrival provides a sense of relief to all Malaysians that the worst will be over soon. Most importantly, our daily lives would resume after a hiatus of close to a year.

I trust that everyone is eager to travel as well with the anticipation that inter-state travel will be allowed soon. Let’s aim higher where even nations’ borders would be opened soon once we achieve the “herd mentality”. It’s not a farfetched thought as vaccination programmes are rolling out this year.

Why not do a little bit of “study” or plan your staycation, even for a few days. I have been secretly harboring a family getaway to our neighbour down south, Singapore. It won’t be extravagant to pamper yourself once a while and book a staycation at Fullerton Hotel.

Based on my reading online and blog walking, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore perfectly situated in the Central Business District of Singapore and is one of the country’s most iconic hotels. It is located along the Singapore river and overlooks Marina Bay waterfront and skyline. The hotel is a grand neoclassical landmark which was once a home to Singapore’s General Post office. Most review said it is a superior luxury hotel experience they have.

Otherwise, there are plenty of hotel alternatives here for staycation at Singapore that meet our budget and requirement.

Why Singapore? It’s because it changed alot since my last visit there 18 years ago. Back then, there were no Marina Bay Sands, Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay and Universal Studios. Heck, even the revamped Singapore Airport has become a tourist attraction (:p)

Singapore also the best getaway, for short holiday or over the weekend. Not too far, easy transportation, and the journey not that long. Actually, before the pandemic, we can see tourists from both country – Malaysia and Singapore, come and go every day.

On top of that, I would also like to relive the wonderful memory of my last visit at Night Safari with my daughter. I would give it the best night safari experience I had (apart from the Bali Night Safari).

The Night Safari is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Singapore and the world’s first nocturnal (night active animals) zoo. It’s one of the best things to do in Singapore that suit all ages. You can take the guided tram tour through seven geographical zones, close-up view of nocturnal animals in each region. Or you can watch popular shows like Thumbuakar Performance and Creatures of the Nights show. You can also take a walk along the pathways and enjoy the night.

For you guys and gals reading this, hurry and plan your staycation Singapore too (I am targeting a Christmas staycation). I trust that Singapore will offer other interesting activities for you too.
