Tansen Izakaya @ Damansara Jaya, P.J
This was Sam’s birthday dinner and Japanese food still her choice when we asked her to decide what type of food she wanted. Moreover, the same food. 。・°°・(>▽<)・°°・。
Upon entering, what we beheld was a beautifully designed space resembled fishing village, with heavily use of wooden elements and embellished with assorted of fishing net, buoys, fish theme Noren and paper lanterns. Printed menu hung on the walls and soft Japanese songs at the background adding to the lively Izakaya atmosphere.
There are partitioned section near the entrance (where I saw Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang!), followed by the main dining area at the further inside, as well as the bar seating that can get some kitchen actions.
Suntory Mega (RM36.80)
Gin Highball (RM24.00)
Visit an Izakaya and not order boozy drink would be sacrilegious! Especially when my mom, my drinking buddy in the family was tagged along. (*^o^)っ凵☆凵c(^-^*)
We got some drinking snack to nosh on while imbibing on our happy juice. 😛
Agemono Platter (RM29.00)
Platter of pipping deep fried skewers which comprises breaded shrimps, Shishamo, brinjal, chicken thigh and lady finger. These are great accompaniment to the malty sweet and hoppy bitter profile of a beer.
Miso Cabbage Pork (RM19.00)
Packed with savoury (but slightly on salty side) fiery flavours, this stir fried dish was rather addictive which made me couldn’t stop gorging on it. My glass of chilled Highball went down smoothly with the intense kick of spicy seasoning.
Miso Ramen (RM26.00)
Mom needed her carbohydrate, this big portion of Ramen sufficiently fixed her craving.
Salmon Sashimi Don (RM31.00)
No prizes for guessing whose order is this. Thick slices of fresh Salmon Sashimi, Onsen Egg and Edamame topped on bowl of rice.
Pork Hamburg Steak (RM29.00)
Well flavoured and succulent pork patty served on hot plate with generous serving of fries and blanched vegetables.
Salmon Tuna Overflow (RM39.00)
Hide underneath of the highly stacked cubed Tuna and Salmon Sashimi as well as tamagoy was the cucumber Maki. The freshness of the Sashimi here was top notch, they were soft and delicate.
Dashimaki Tamago (RM11.00)
Tender and moist with custard-like centre was enjoyable. A simple and classic dish that executed with grace.
Verdict: Overall, it was a rather good dinner session with most of the dishes belong to the category of “I won’t regret ordering”.

oOo that overflow looks good!
KY, good for sharing . 🙂
I like what I see! One day I must go and explore this restaurant since it is located in Damansara Jaya. I must ask my brother whether he has tried this.
PH, hopefully you can try out this place soon!
My son is the same…he likes to eat the same things too. So, Sam is a salmon lover. All the food looks great. Wow, your mom hebat lah! If you didn’t mention, I thought your hubby is your drinking buddy…lol! 😀
Kris, boring kids….. =.=”
My hubby doesn’t drink (if he has a choice) and he doesn’t eat dessert too, which both are the food that I like. >_<
