Waku Waku @ Mid Valley Megamall
You will hardly miss this restaurant whenever you are at level 3 Mid Valley Megamall (same level with Mid Valley Exhibition Centre, MVEC). With plenty of wooden constructions with a few house-look-alike booth within the dining area, the interior definitely score point for its novelty.
The house-look-alike booth.
The cute murals.
“Waku Waku” simply means excitement or thrill in Japanese, served contemporary Japanese food such as Japanese style Nasi Lemak, Spicy Sushi Roll with Sambal and Mayo, Hawaiian Loco Moco, Japanese Hamburg and so much more.
Genmai Cha (RM 2.90++)
They have a pretty extensive menu from the familiar Japanese appetizers, skewers, tempura, sushi, hamburg, sashimi, fusion Japanese and Korean style rice, noodle and many more. Be ready to spoilt for choice!
Chicken Hamburg Steak (RM 17.90++)
Served on a hot plate, the 180g chicken patty (as per stated in the menu) was humongous and thick in size with sides of an sunny side up, fried sliced potatoes and snow peas. The chicken patty tasted wise, well seasoned and the Japanese soy sauce went well with it however the texture was slightly too minced for my liking. I always found such problem happen to food with minced chicken meat, most probably they processed the meat with blender?
Kimuchi Nabe (RM 18.90++)
I was in mood to have Korean food, so I got myself a Kimchi hotpot under the “Pot & Soup” session in the menu.
The portion is huge and more than enough to be shared by 2 persons. Laden bountifully with kimchi, shimeji mushroom, chicken fillet, tofu and vegetables. The soup was intensely infused with kimchi and the flavor was spot on, I enjoyed it immensely. I will never get bored of Korean food, any Korean food fan out there please raise your hand!
Verdict: Reasonably priced and the portion of food is sizable. The Japanese Nasi Lemak in the menu definitely justify a revisit 🙂

Always wanted to try out this place, but no chance yet… looks good… i know i will like this place 🙂
Try it & let me know how’s you feel!
