Yayoi @ The Waterfront, Desa Park City
This was birthday dinner for Sam a couple of months ago. Since it’s on a weekday, we opted for restaurant within our vicinity and Yayoi located at Desa Park City was our choice.
Located near the park at The Waterfront Desa Park City, Yayoi has a bright and comfortable indoor dining area, dressed in light wood tone.
Al-fresco seating is available too.
Ordering is made via the tablet that installed on each table.
Yayoi offers a startling variety of Teishoku, which is set meal comprises rice, miso soup and main dish and side dishes. Their large menu featuring an impressive selection of Japanese food that covers everything from assorted Don, Teppan dishes, Sukiyaki, Curry Rice, Udon Soup served as set meals. Ala carte option such as Sushi Rolls, Salads, Gyoza, Chicken Karaage, Beef Nasumiso, Saba Shioyaki, Edamame, Agedashi Tofu and dessert, just to name some. The extensive menu ensures that everyone can find a recipe to enjoy.
Hot & Cold Hojicha (Refillable RM2.90)
Salmon Don (RM35.90)
The Teishoku came with main dish, salad, miso soup and pickles.
The main dish of Salmon Don was sufficiently crowned with sliced Salmon with sesame sprinkles, shredded egg crepe, sliced cucumber and shredded seaweeds.
Chirashi Don (RM33.90)
Chirashi means “scattered” in Japanese and Chirashi Don is usually serve at happy or celebratory event such as Hinamatsuri (Girls’ Day) and Kodomo no hi (Children’s Day) due to its festive and visually appealing presentation. Sushi rice topped with variety of raw fish and vegetable garnishes which provided a multitude of flavours and texture, it’s definitely a treat!
Beef Gyu Toji Don (RM27.90)
The simmered sliced beef with onion and egg was rather bland tasting for me, I would have chose other item. (´д`)
Verdict: The menu certainly one of the most extensive that I ever seen (another one would be the Kim Gary Restaurant) and I believe diners of all ages can find their favourable food here. Price and portion wise, pretty standard for Japanese restaurant I would say.

I am not familiar with this restaurant and I wondered what sort of cuisine does Yayoi serve and it turned out to be Japanese. The Salmon Don and Chirashi Don looked pretty good. I have not had Japanese for a while except for sashimi that I recently had at home. Belated Happy Birthday to Sam!
PH, thank you for your wishes.
Choices are abundant here and I believe you & your Lahling can find something you like.
I’ve tried Yayoi before via delivery (courtesy of a dinner treat) but found the food average at best…but the set meals are certainly good value with fair portions and lots of varieties to choose from. P/S: I see you got the same pale-looking beef that I got…lol. The salmon & chirashi don certainly are the better choices
Kris, I was so disappointed with y choice when it arrived on my table as it really looked pale, sob sob ~>_<~
Did u have this after run? haha
KY, need to run extra because of that bowl of rice. >_<
