Yen Can Cook: Oven Baked Pork Ribs
Pork rib is my favourite cut of meat that I always stock up some in my freezer. They are very versatile as they can be cooked in many ways, braised, slow cooked, smoked barbequed and oven baked/roasted. Today’s recipe is a more oriental inspired version and ingredients needed are quite basic which can be easily found in your pantry.
Ingredients (Serve: 4-5)
1.5kgs pork ribs, cleaned
Marinade
4 tablespoons soy sauce
6 tablespoons cooking wine
2 tablespoons sugar
4 cloves garlic
1/2 teaspoon five spice powder
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
Chopped spring onion, for garnishing (optional)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 1: Mix all the ingredients in a big bowl then marinate the pork ribs overnight or at least 3 hours in the fridge.
Step 2: Preheat the oven at 190 °C. Take out the pork ribs from the fridge and let them sit at room temperature.
Step 3: Place the pork ribs on baking tray lined with parchment/baking paper, bake for 20 – 30 minutes at 190 °C. During the last 5 minutes of cook time, brush the marinade on top of the ribs then continue bake till fully cooked.
Step 4: Remove the pork ribs from oven, sprinkle with chopped spring onion and serve.
