Yen Can Cook: Steamed Salted Chicken
I like to whip up this easy yet nutrition dish for my family especially when I run out of idea what to cook during dinner time. Sam is a huge fan of poultry, she will glee with joy whenever I dish out this steamed chicken and polish her plate of rice in gusto.
Ingredients
3 chicken drumsticks
1 tablespoon sea salt
1 tablespoon Shaoxin wine / Rice wine
Handful of red dates & wolfberries (goji)
3-4 pcs Angelica Sinensis (Dong Guai)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 1: Clean the chicken drumsticks and rub with sea salt and Shaoxin wine. Add in Angelica Sinensis and marinate the chicken for at least 2 hours
Step 2: Bring water to boil, place chicken on a plate then topped with red dates & wolfberries. Steamed for 20 – 30 minutes until chicken is fully cooked.
Step 3: Serve.
HAPPY COOKING!
This chicken dish looks tasty and appetizing. You have so much good ideas to whip up anything fast.
I remembered my mum used to throw half chicken into a slow cooker, added water, black sauce and spices before leaving the house in the morning. When I got home from school I could smell her yummy chicken from the street! I miss my mummy now…………
As a working mother, I have to whip up anything fast before the husband & kid reach home =.=”
