Yoyogi Hikiniku @ Damansara Utama, P.J

I immediately bookmarked this place after I read PH‘s post and made a beeline for it on that weekend.

The main dining area is a long shape space, furnished with simple dark wooden tables, chairs and benches. One of the walls is fully decorated with colourful Japanese inspired posters.

We were seated at the only vacant big table near the entrance, with a cute Hikiniku to Kome mural –  the headliner of Yoyogi, which is minced meat and rice, or to be precise Tokyo inspired Hikiniku to Kome.

Ordering is done online with scanning the QR code. In the website, all dishes come with photo but without description.

Other than their signature Japanese Hamburg served on rice, Yoyogi’s menu also offers Yakitori served with rice set (RM24.80 to RM28.80), Savoury Rice Bowl – Salmon Hamburg with Onsen Egg, Soft Shell Crab Tempura Don, Smoky Unagi with Avocado (RM26.80 to RM43.80), Homemade Sanuki Udon meal – Karrage with Smoky Curry, Hikory Hamburg Steak with Crispy Wedges, Salmon Hamburg Tempura (RM28.80 to 39.80), ala carte dishes – Avocado Wakadon Namban Chicken, Ume Tomato Tsuke, Crispy Corn Cake, Kyuri Asatsuke, Edamame Shichimi (RM4.80 to RM18.80), beverages and desserts.

Saitama Lemon Punch Soda (RM14.80)

A refreshing concoction of lime, sour plum and cucumber slices.

Hamburg on Japanese Comfort Pearl Rice Teishoku (RM25.80)

The set meal comes with the main – Japanese Hamburg on rice, soup, onsen egg, pickles and stir fried vegetables. The soup was rather tasty, savoury with gentle tanginess.

The Hamburg was served on bowl of rice, topped with grated radish and sprinkled with bonito flakes and chopped spring onion.

The thick Australian minced beef patty was grilled with Binchotan Charcoal, smoky charred exterior and the inner was tender, moist and bursting with flavour in very bite.

There are options of Hamburg serves on Ramen or nasi Lemak.

I also mixed in the onsen egg for extra creaminess.

Yoyogi Cheese Burger with Crispy Wedges (RM22.80)

The burger was a stall stack of two pieces of same Hamburg but in smaller size, fried egg, cheese slice and tomato slices. The grilled patties were equally juicy and tantalizing. The skin on potato wedges certainly deserved an additional clap as they were beautifully crispy on the outer with scrumptious seasoning and soft tender flesh.

Marinara Meat Balls with Sanuki Udon (RM34.80)

Five pieces of juicy flavourful meat balls and springy udon submerged in light marinara sauce yet had the perfect balance of savory, sweet and sour notes. Vegetables and herbs were also a welcome and made the dish hearty and wholesome.

Verdict: Love Love Love! The Hikiniku to Kome hit it out of the park and I wouldn’t say no to a second attempt of it. ♡^▽^♡
