Ze Yuan Seafood Restaurant
Hubby suggested to go Genting Highlands on one of the public holiday recently and before going up we stopped by at Gohtong Jaya (a town before the peak) to have our lunch. There are stretch of restaurants along the main street and we just simply choose one ๐ (Perhaps the one with the nearest available parking lot? ^_*)
Media coverage about Ze Yuan Seafood Restaurant spotted on the wall. A good sign? Let’s see~
Crispy Fried Pork Belly (RM 15.00)
I vaguely remember someone told me this crispy fried pork belly is origin from one of the restaurant at Gohtong Jaya? Can someone enlighten me? Crispy, salty, sweetย and very addictive plate of deep fried thinly sliced pork belly beautifully coated with caramelized sauce. My jaw was a bit tired after polished off the whole plate ๐
Salt and Pepper Octopus Tentacles (RM 12.00)
Recommended by the waitress and as a squid/octopus/sotong lover I can’t say no ~lol The tentacles were thinly battered then deep fried and cooked with very moreish salt and pepper. Again I polished this off effortlessly ๐
Salted Egg Yolk Pumpkin (RM 15.00)
Normally we’ll have salted egg yolk chicken, crab or prawn but salted egg yolk for vegetables definitely my first time. I enjoyed the aroma of the salted egg yolk emanating from the freshly fried pumpkin and the contrast between the sweet pumpkin and savory salted egg yolk coating was such a wonderful sensation in my palate.
Verdict:Total bill came to RM 47.40 included 2 rice and Chinese tea, very reasonably priced I would say. A meal here will not break a hole in oneโs pocket (eg: dining at the highlands =.=”) unless u go for the freshwater fishes. There are many other choices here at Gohtong Jaya, will try out when I come up here again.
