The Korean Feast @ Serena Brasserie, Hotel Intercontinental, KL
안녕하세요 An nyoung ha seh yo, greeting from Korea! Hey dudes, don’t misunderstanding that I’m at Korea (although I really wish too :P), actually I was at Serena Brasserie, Hotel Intercontinental, KL attending The Korean Feast which is the latest promotion held from 18 June to 15 July 2012.
This Korean food promotion is collaborating with Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation and features three Korean chefs (Kim Jae Sun, Hyun Soon Ahn & Jun-Young Heo) specially flown in from Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas and InterContinental Seoul Coex to cook up a feast.
The chefs have prepared an exciting menu that focuses on staying true to the characteristics of Korean food which showcase all the traditional flavors and techniques. The Korean Feast features over 20 dishes per night, including the following:
Assorted kimchi ~ simply the quintessential food of Korean
Bibimbap in miniature size
A kaleidoscope of colours and flavors.
Haemul-pajeon (Green Onion and Seafood Pancake)
This proved to be winner with everyone, the pancakes will disappeared in jiffy if you act too slow!
Korean hot noodle soup
Kimchi Fried Rice
Fluffy and every spoonful was filled flavorful and appetizing kimchi taste, definitely something you can’t miss!
Samgaetang (Ginseng Chicken Soup)
This was slightly bland for my liking.
Japchae (Stir Fried Potato Noodles with Fresh Vegetable)
Beef Bulgogi
Seo-galbigui (Marinated Grilled Beef Ribs)
This was awesome too, grilled to perfection, tender and well marinated.
Gimbap (rice rolled in layer)
Yukjoe (Korean Beef Tartare)
My virgin try on raw beef, the experience was not bad at all, no “weird” taste of raw meat detected 🙂
Sujeonggwa (Cinnamon Punch)
Wow, this was sickening sweet, I think it will taste better if diluted with some water?
Hangwa (Korean Confectionery)
The Korean Ginseng
Hansik ~ The Taste of Korea, prepared with great care and attention, use pure, naturally grown ingredients from the mountains and rivers. It is a culinary heritage that involved over thousand of years, based on the idea of oneness between man and nature.
Makgeolli (Traditional Rice Wine)
This Milk-coloured sweet liquor is made from rice, low alcohol content (about 6%) and rich in amino acids, Vitamin B and organic acid.
Other than the Korean food, there are spread of local, Japanese and Western food too.
Comfy dining area @ Hotel Intercontinental, Kuala Lumpur.
