Won Korean Dining @ Eat Paradise, Isetan One Utama
we (3 of us) love Korean food especially Korean BBQ. We enjoy watching the meat being sizzlingly barbecued on the grill, of course we love to indulge in the delicious meat with the sauces and lettuce. Sam love the grilled to crispy pork belly while hubby and I fond of marinated meat because of its enticing flavors. So when hubby suggested to dine in at Won Korean Dining nestled in Eat Paradise at Isetan One Utama Shopping Centre, the brilliant idea was met with instant approval!
We were there for their “Unlimited Refillable BBQ” promotion which available for lunch and dinner. Different prices are charged on weekdays and weekends as well as public holiday.
Note: Price might be different now as we had this a few months ago.
The restaurant is brightly lit with simple minimal décor and spacious settings. No retractable chimney was in sight, so the ventilation was rather poor. Our clothes were reeking of grilled meat and oily smell after the dinner. >_< We were there during dinner time on Sunday and the place was rather vacant, only 3-4 tables were filled up while we were busy tucking in.
Hot Green Tea (RM3.00)
Drinks are not included in the All-You-Can-Eat BBQ Buffet, the beverage choices available for additional order include Soju, Makgeoli, beer, teas and soft drinks.
We were served with the salad, kimchi, soy bean paste soup, bean sprouts which were unlimited refill. Followed by lettuce, sauces and condiments. For the meat selections, it limited to pork belly, pork shoulder and pork skin ONLY. We didn’t notice this until we were offered with the special menu for the BBQ buffet. Although we were fine with the meat choices because we are not really into seafood, beef or chicken but for other who prefer more variety may find it not worthy.
A special grill stone was placed on the stove and a few thick slab of meats were place on it. Not sure about normal days, we grilled the meat ourselves that evening and they were certainly understaffed rendering a slow and not so pleasant service.
All the meat offered was without any marinade but we were glad that they were fresh and with my “excellent” grilling skill, those meats were perfectly cooked! Crispy edges and adequately tender with great smoky flavor. The carnivores in us rejoice in this indulgent meaty pleasure.
Verdict: Price was decent for a mall restaurant but the meat and side dishes choices were quite limited. For those who love variety, I afraid this place may not suit you. There’s still room for improvement when come to service, I think service with a smile definitely can leave a positive impression to the patrons.
Won Korean Dining
That’s a pretty good price!
But only 2 types of pork for meat selection & the side dishes also not very impressive >_<
Yes, I can see your excellent cooking skills in that well charred pork belly! 😉 RM31 for unlimited pork belly is still a very good deal as usually that’s the cost of just one plate of pork belly.
Haha, true also 😛 Normally one plate of meat is priced over RM25 now in Korean restaurant >_<
At first I thought it sounded cheap for unlimited refills but then, I think ROCKU would be better for big eaters as their buffet spread is nice and generous with so many types of meat & seafood.
For variety, this place definitely can’t beat Rocku!
i guess for about RM30, it’s still acceptable for visitors to this mall in general 🙂
You are correct Sean, for mall standard, it still a worthy deal!
