Yummilicious Food Taste @ Tropicana City Mall ~ Oliver Deli, Chong Hwa Curry & Three Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf

Yummilicious Food Taste @ Tropicana City Mall Round Two on 29 July 2017. Round One read HERE.
Our first stop was Oliver Deli nestled in Oliver Gourmet. Offers wide variety of fresh meats, processed meat such as ham, sausages, bacon, imported premium ham, ready-to-eat food, pre-packed sauces and assorted of beverages.

There is a cook-on-demand counter where shoppers can get your choices of meat and let the chef do the cooking for you, no extra cooking fee is charged. You may dine-in or take away the food and enjoy it at home. There is also a small menu of salad, light snack and pasta to complete your meal.

If you have budget to splurge on, this platter of Joselito & 5J Jamón Ibérico de Bellota. Specially air-flown from Spain and probably the only place you can taste it at Klang Valley. Trust me, once you tasted the heavenly ham, you will be drooling over it for days.
For a more detailed review, please read HERE.

Our next stop was this humble fuss-free restaurant that specializes in curry dishes such as curry noodles (soup & dry) and Nasi Lemak. Other options such as fish balls noodles and steamed chicken with rice also available.
Although the menu isn’t extensive but the price is pretty wallet-friendly with the set meal. Patrons can choose their preferred main course and and beverage which priced at RM11.00nett and RM13.00nett only. I guess these set meals would be a hit among the office workers nearby.

Chong Hwa Curry Noodles + Barley & Nasi Lemak Ayam + Soya Bean (RM11.00nett each set)

Chong Hwa Curry Noodles

This traditional curry recipe from Kuala Lipis showcases a thick and fragrant curry broth paired with special house made noodles. This bowl of curry noodles is chocked full of ingredients such as the essential fresh cockles, fish balls, bean curd puffs, fish cakes as well as fried bean curd sheet. The broth was robust from the variety of spices and the spiciness was just right.

Nasi Lemak Ayam
Portion wise, my plate of Nasi Lemas came with usual condiments of crunchy fried anchovies, peanuts, cucumber slices, a whole hard boiled egg and sambal. We got a piece of sizeable chicken thigh and a few potato chunks drenched in thick curry gravy. The chicken was tender and the curry gravy was quite moreish with a lot of spices note.
Verdict: Taste wise, the food I had was good although not too outstanding but the attractive prices definitely the main pull factor.

Our last stop of the food tasting had us at this restaurant with a unique and catchy name – Three Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf. Take pride in their porky goodness filled menu, and they offer different menus for Three Little Pigs (breakfast & lunch until 6pm) and The Big Bad Wolf (dinner from 6pm onwards)

The restaurant is spacious with a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. The dining area is brilliantly separated into two sections, one on a platform with simple tables and chairs and another area furnished with long banquette seating as well as a kid’s play room. Families with kids can choose to sit at this area and have your lunch “peacefully” while the kids have fun playing in the kid’s room.

Check out their signature dishes if you don’t know what to order 😛

The Wolf’s Favourite (RM29.00)

Being one of the recommended dishes in the menu, it proved to be memorable in a fine way. Sufficiently bathed in luscious creamy laced with cheese and herbs, prick the poached egg and let the yolk further add creaminess to the pasta. The crispy streaky bacon, bacon bits and mushroom added another textural contrast to the dish.

Divine Chocolate Sundae (RM11.00)
Vanilla ice cream, chocolate and butterscotch sauce and generous sprinkles of crush walnut, a dessert combination that I can’t say no 🙂

Three Little Pig’s U.S Pork Sausage Platter (RM29.00)
There is a promotions on their signature sausage platter, get a complimentary 500ml Evian Mineral Water with every order.

Latte (RM9.00) & Cappuccino (RM9.00)
Another promotion that shouldn’t be missed is their buy 1 and get 1 free coffee promotion!

Verdict: Biased about my love for the hog and their food didn’t disappointed. As a family with kid, the play area certainly a plus point!
