El Meson
Being adventurous this time, we had CY‘s birthday celebration at a Spain restaurant, El Meson at Bangsar.
Thanks to the group buys website, we got a great deal of RM 70.00 for a platter of cold cuts + quarter suckling pig & Paella Valenciana which can feed 2-3 pax. Since we have a group of 6 persons, we got ourselves 2 certs to enjoy this sumptuous Spanish feast!
The bright red menu under the dim light in the restaurant. So please pardon me of the poor quality photos. >.<
Rustic & warm interior.
I just love the vibrant colours art pieces in the restaurant.
Imported can food, sauces & beverages for sell.
Prices for drinks are slightly on the higher side.
Cammomile Pot (RM 8.00)
Detox (RM 16.00)
Mocha (RM 13.00)
Lychee (RM 13.00)
Hot Chocolate (RM 9.00)
Our dinner started off with complimentary warm bread with herbs butter. We finished these in a jiffy and ask for refill as we were famished that time 😛
A huge plate of cold cuts with Iberico, Serrano, Parma, Speck, Chorizo and Salchichon together with melon and olives. We were so skeptical to try those hams since most of us were first timer when come to this “raw-looking meat” =.=”
Despite the similar saltiness, each of its exhibits a different taste & texture.
Roast Suckling Pig
Perfectly roasted, tender & juicy flesh with crispy skin. The fried potatoes & salad that came with it are perfect companions to balance out the dish.
Paella Valenciana
The fragrant saffron rice was brimming with chicken, pork, chorizo and green beans in rich chicken stock.
Chocolate Truffle (RM 18.00)
Firm & dense but the “upscale” price tag….. =.=”
Verdict: Overall was pleasant dining experience trying something new but would be better if the service can be more attentive 🙂

That suckling pig… is calling out to me…
Love that cold cut platter too… expensive stuff! 😀
I knew the cold cut is something expensive 😛 But I can have it with very reasonable price, hooray!
Wahh so much cold cuts! Not sure if I’d like them too.. Need to try them out first! Hehe .. btw love your new ‘home’! 🙂
Never try never know right? 🙂
Always wanted to try them but failed to do so. Hehe.
Nevermind, there is always a chance 🙂
was here during my birthday and have yet to blog about. haha.
Paella is not as great as the one from la bodega, same goes to desserts. price wise, this place is really expensive.
Hmmm… I think I should try La Bodega *rolling eyes*
wah so meaty 😀
Indeed, eat until quite jelak ;P
Very Nice
Have you try Spanish cuisine before?
I love cold cuts… dont eat them so much in KL since difficult to source good ones from the supermarket. In UK, I always eat hahahahaha.
So syiok live at UK huh…. *envy*
I’ve been there once. The food was quite good, but it was quite pricey, especially their desserts. I personally prefer La Bodega more than El Meson.
Ya, read about ur birthday celebration post at Christine’s blog 🙂
I’d go for the Chocolate Truffle! but then, mahal weh!
Memang mahal >.<
Love the food here .. and particularly LOVE melon with Iberico, Serrano, Parma, Speck, Chorizo and Salchichon !!!!
Not my cup of tea actually 😛
不是很习惯吃西班牙菜
看得出,哈哈!!
The cold platter do look a bit small in terms of serving.
