Yen Can Cook ~ Air Fried King Oyster Mushrooms
I have been using my Philips Air Fryer which I won in a cooking contest in 2014 for most of my frying and food reheating job. Although mine is quite an old model, it only malfunctioned once and needed to be sent to the Philips service center for repairing.
Despite the fact that the air fried food might not as crispy/crunchy as deep fried food, but I still love to use my humble air fryer for a hassle free aftermath (no oil splattering all over the kitchen) as well as its versatility. Besides air frying food, the air fryer can also bake, roast, grill, and carry out several different functions.
Like my previous air fryer recipes (THIS, THIS & THIS), today’s recipe can be done with deep frying if you don’t have an air fryer at home. There will be no serving portion and amount of ingredients for today’s recipe, because they are flexible to be adjusted.
Ingredients
King oyster mushroom
Egg, beaten
Bread crumbs
All Purpose Flour
Seasoning
Salt
Black pepper
Paprika powder/Cayenne powder (Optional)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 1: Made a roll cut/oblique cut on the king oyster mushroom. Make a diagonal cut on the mushroom, then quarter turn (90 degrees) and cut again at same angle. Continue rolling and cutting along length of mushroom.
Step 2: Season the mushroom (Step 1) with salt, black pepper, paprika powder or any seasoning as per desired.
Step 3: Place flour, egg and bread crumbs into shallow dish, separately. Set aside.
Step 4: Dredge each mushroom slice into the flour, followed by a dip into the egg and then into the breadcrumbs.
Step 5: Air fry for 20 minutes at 180ºc, or until golden brown. Turn the mushrooms halfway through the cooking time.
Step 6: Serve.
HAPPY COOKING! #stayhealthy #staysafe
Nice! Nice! Looks really good, as if deep fried. I have been using my air fryer very regularly these days. Very convenient and very useful for reheating food.
