Yen Can Cook ~ Tea Tree Mushrooms & Black Eyed Peas Soup

I still have leftover black eyed peas sitting in my cabinet after boiling the Hairy Gourd and Black Eyed Peas Soup. Mom gave me some tea tree mushrooms the other day, so today’s boiled soup recipe is ideally use up the ingredients in my pantry without needing to source for other ingredients. *I hate keeping too much ingredients and end up all expired or gone bad =_=

Other tea tree mushrooms soup -> Tea Tree Mushrooms Soup

Ingredients (Serve: 3-4)

400g pork ribs/pork soup bones/chicken

80g Tea Tree Mushrooms

50g black eyed peas, soaked in water for at least 3 hours

6-8 red dates, de-seeded

6-8 dried longan

2500ml water

Salt to taste

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 1: Clean the dried Tree Tree Mushrooms and soak the mushrooms in warm water for 2 hours. Trim the roots of the mushrooms, drain and set aside.
Step 2: Put pork ribs/pork soup bones/chicken into a pot of water and bring to a boil, to remove blood and impurities. Remove, drain and set aside.
Step 3: Put all the ingredients (except salt)  into a pot and add in water until enough to immerse all the ingredients. Bring to a boil and lower the heat and let the soup simmer for 2-3 hours.
Step 3: Season with salt and serve.
