>Dynasty Restaurant @ Renaissance Hotel ~ MIGF Festival Menu
>The launching of the MIGF 2010 marks the beginning of gastronomic journey for all food lover to try out the special created festival menu from all the 30 participated restaurants. I have the honour to be invited to savor the delicately prepared authentic Cantonese fare by Chef Tan Kim Weng of Dynasty Restaurant, Renaissance Hotel.

Seats near window overlooking the busy Jalan Sultan Ismail
Dynasty Restaurant will be serving the dinner by individually portioned, a la Western-style and not the traditional way where everything is served in one plate.
Our dinner began with the appetizer.
Water Apple, Tossed Nuts, Fruity Mustard & Wok Seared Scallop, Golden Sweet Corn

The juicy water apple topped with grounded peanuts & mustard really resemble our rojak π

Fresh & bouncy scallop laid on boiled vegetables served with moreish corn salted egg dressing.

Double boiled Abalone Soup, Chinese Yam, Wolfberries
Consist of a whole Abolone, Chinese Yam, Mushroom & Wolfberries. A hearty & nutritious soup to warm your tummy.

Morton Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Pairing wine for appetizer & soup (1 glass each)

Fragrant Glutinous Rice, Drunken Garlic Prawns
Finely chopped garlic, Chinese wine & essence from the fresh prawns contributed the flavors to the bland glutinous rice.

Braised Sea Cucumber, Cuttlefish Jus

Grilled Cod, ‘Ma Po’ Bean Curd
Love the grilled to perfection Cod fish, soft & still retain the freshness of the fish. Accompanied with ‘Ma Po’ bean curd & bitter gourd slices.

Crispy Lamb Roll, Hawthorn Berry Chili Sauce
Well marinated minced lamb rolls serving on top of pickled cabbage. A great balance of flavors with the combination of meat, pickled cabbage & the hawthorn berry sauce.

Hunter’s Marlborough Pinot Noir
Paring wine for the above 4 mains
A lovely dessert to end the meal.
Sweet Potatoes with Avocado, Orange Peel & Cream of Pumpkin, Pomelo

Sweet Potato balls with chocolate filling. Argghhh..I should take the photo of the chocolate oozing out when I bite into it π

The pumpkin puree with pomelo pulp bites and a dallop of ice cream was smooth & alluring.
A great dining experience with the splendid dishes & warm hospitality from Puan Nor Aizan Abdul Hamid who really has the sense of humour.
Apart from savouring delicious and diverse cuisine, diners should also check out the fantastic Festival privileges offered – from special group booking discounts to exclusive room rates as well as beverage offers.
