B.B.Q Restaurant has been operating for more than 40 years, offering assorted roasted meat served with rice or Wonton Mee.
Located along Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah (previously known as Jalan Ipoh), near Chow Kit, the restaurant occupies a 2-storey old shoplot, with a fuss-free setting, equipped with air-conditioners,
Food preparing counter at the entrance, as well as several tables for customers who prefer dining with a busy street view.
The menu comprises Wonton Mee or rice served with Char Siew, Roasted Chicken, Roasted Duck, Roasted Pork Ribs and Siew Yoke. There are also noodles with Braised Chicken Feet with Mushroom, Dumplings, Fish Balls, Sam Kan Chong Pork Balls and Dry Curry Chicken.
Char Siew Wonton Mee (1.5 noodles)
Portion was huge and I believe from the photo you can notice that the Wonton noodles was thinner than the usual one. Although it wasn’t springy but the texture was just right, not slouchy nor overly to the bite. Tossed with a delicious dark soy sauce concoction with a lovely pork lard aroma. There was a dollop of savoury minced meat topping to enhance the flavour further.
The highly recommended Char Siew tasted sweet and I’m afraid I did not like the lean cut meat that given to me.
The Wonton and soup were nicely flavourful.
Siew Yoke Wonton Mee (small)
The Siew Yoke was decent with crunchy skin and tasty marinade.
Total: RM27.00 included a drink.
Verdict: The Wonton Mee was passable but the Char Siew wasn’t live up to my expectation though.

Sunayna, thank you for dropping by my blog. 🙂
I thought the Wonton Mee worth trying but the Char Siew that highly recommended in Google Review was just so so for me.
Surprised that the not-so caramelised char siew ended up tasting sweet. Ya, all lean char siew is a no-no…lol! ;D
Kris, yeah, the cut was too lean with coarse texture. 🙁
