>Baba Low’s 486
Bangsar = Jalan Telawi = Pubs & Bistro
Well, this was what in my mind when Bangsar is mentioned to me.
That’s before I am introduced on Baba Low’s 486 from Nic . Thanks to navigation via GPS so we can find this hidden place π
(Bangsar is certainly larger than I imagined.. Baba Low is nicely tucked at one of the housing estates)
Menu is written on the old-timer blackboard~~~
Not many choices but enough to satisfy your craving for Nyonya food π
(warning… lots of spiciness in majority of the food)
Cendol – RM 2.50
Sufficient gula melaka added in that qualify as my ideal cendol, I love sweet food to make me sweeter ~.~ *grin*
Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng Kunyit – RM 4.50
Beside the normal nasi lemak condiments like boil egg, sambal (taste a bit too sweet) & cucumber, there were fried kangkung & 2 small pieces of fried chicken (very flavorful).
Rice – RM 1.00
With halved salted egg.
Asam Pedas – RM 5.00
Kampung fish in asam gravy with some cuts of ladyfingers. The fish still had some fishy taste (izzit correct?) but the gravy was just nice, sour & very appetizing. I wished that more gravy was given π
Popiah – RM 3.00
It has crispyness factor as it contained fresh beansprout, crushed peanuts accompanied by braised turnip flavor, shredded egg and the customary chilly paste.Note: Apparently some of the food (cendol & nasi lemak) tasted different during my 2nd visit at night-time. No consistency??
486 Baba Low’s
Lorong Kurau, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.

>asam pedas look yummy
hungry lah ….
>Looks nice Wor!
>Wow, impressive that you managed to find this obscure place. Looks good!
Cheerio from Thailand…
>that blackboard very old school feel^^
>interesting….
will look for this when i next visit bangsar ~ ^_^
>Poh piah looks good, very juicy.
>It’s true – Bangsar is not just about Telawi! There are so many hidden gems in Lucky Garden, around the NST/Jalan Kurau area, just takes a bit of effort to look them up. I like how they have more greens in their nasi lemak than the customary 2 slices of cucumber! π
>the price seems to be good
>looks good! didn’t know it was that hard to find… hmmm
>i wish i could have GPS system too.:p
miss the old-timer blackboard, looks nice le, like this kind of feel~
>RM1 for rice with egg! Just unbelieveable to find such prices in B’sar.
>yeah, i had the impression every cafe in Bangsar would be over-priced, and over-rated. though MOST are. π
Cendol! with those thick, reddish, luscious gula melaka … cant find a replacement for Melaka’s original lah.
>oh, you visited this place already! must try the laksa (with bee hoon). i think that is the best dish there, for me. π
the cendol’s good? okie, okie, must go and try already!
oh, btw, there’s a thai restaurant 2 to 3 shops along the same stretch. friends said it was good but i havent tried before. must check it out soon already. π
>good and affordable food π
p/s: the thai restaurant next door closes at 8.30 pm… set lunch/dinner start @ RM10… worth a try
>Oh my god ~ Cencal & Popiah !! My favorite food !! Nice to eat ?
>drove by once, it was raining so heavily though, we didnt try it. the kampung fish’s ‘fishiness’ level is usually more than the deep sea fish..if you get what i mean :p
>sock peng: π
akira: Not bad actually~~
julian: Thanks to Nic π

ling: Waiting for ur review ~.~
