Chinese New Year 2013 Set Menu @ Ee Chinese Cuisine, Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya

Red lanterns dressed up the ceiling and set the right mood for the festive mood.

The blossom flowers on our table.

Upon everyone’s arrival we started off with the obligatory Yee Sang.

Prosperous Salmon with Rice Crackers Yee Sang

Meticulously arranged sliced salmon in rose shape.

Are you ready for the action?

The “mess” after the tossing but who cares! The higher we tossed, the more prosperity, wealth, health and whatever you wish for!

Steamed Farm Chicken with Chinese Wine

The farm chicken was prepared with the simplest way of steaming with rice wine for its best original taste. The texture of the meat was firm and smooth, we also detected a mild smoky flavor which was later told by the chef that the chook was smoked after the steaming process.

Two type of dipping for the chicken ~ Chef’s signature green chili lime sauce and mashed ginger sauce for those who like more oomph for their chicken.

Combination Stir Fried Prawns with Macadamia Nuts and Bacon Roll
A visually stunning dish with vibrant of colours.

The stir fried prawns was light in flavor and mainly showcase the bounciness and natural sweetness of the crustacean.

The bacon rolls were equally great too. Fish paste and ham slice was wrapped with bacon and deep fried then coated with an appetizing sweet and sour sauce.

Braised Abalone with Sea Cucumber, Dried Oyster and Vegetables
A dish synonymous with good luck and prosperity.

The sliced abalones crowned with black see moss or more commonly known as ‘Fatt Choy’ were well braised and the broccoli still retained their crunchy nature.

The fairly big size dried oyster and see cucumber had soaked up the flavors of the savory sauce.

Stewed Clay Pot Rice with Assorted Waxed Meat

Premium waxed duck meat, pork, liver and waxed sausages which really had me singing for joy, I really wish to have more if I’m not need to watch my diet >.<

Claypot rice seasoned with soy sauce, oil and perhaps chef’s secret sauces.
Instead of mixing all the waxed meat together with the rice during the cooking process, the assortments of waxed meat was served separately. The rice was slightly undercooked and I still love version of mixing the waxed meat together with the rice 🙂

Sweetened Dried Longans, White Fungus and Snow Lotus Seeds & Pumpkin Nian Gao Ball
A soothing dessert of warm dried longan tong sui and the snow lotus seeds have a chewy texture which I found was pretty interesting.

Pumpkin ball with Nian Gao cube filling coated with dried coconut.
