Dante Carlos Pizzeria @ Taman Bukit Maluri, Kepong

Our dining experience at this dainty neighbourhood pizzeria unquestionably exceed my expectation. (*^0^*)

 

Located on the same stretch of zinc-roofed shed eateries with the Big Big Cup Steakhouse, the brick oven which is decorated with silver mosaic tiles that equipped in 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐬 attracted my attention once I stepped into the place. 

 

The environment is a lot more comfortable than Big Big Cup Steakhouse, furnished with both air conditioners and ceiling fans, and the seating also not as cramped as the latter. Extra touches of greenery which I appreciated.

 

The menu is a one pager features a list of pizzas, as well as pie, pastas, soup, and small selection of desserts and beverages. The chef takes a playful spin to the pizza names and the creativity of the pizza toppings is another shining traits of Dante Carlos. We had a difficult time to decide which pizza(s) to order because there were a few that piqued my interest such as ‘Babi Berenang”, “Wonderland”, and “K.A.P”.

 

House Wine (RM18.00/glass)

I prefer white wine to red wine and it’s not easy to find red wine that suit my taste bud. The house wine which was at rock bottom price had me singing for joy with the first sip, I finally found my “Mr. Right”! However, I have been searching high and low for that Spanish wine (Pastoso Merlot) but my effort did not avail. ●︿●

 

DaVinci Pie (RM22.00)

Underneath the cheesy crust was the creamy mashed potato studded with bacon, diced capsicums, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms, in tangy tomato sauce.

 

Beef Mania (RM33.00)

Topped with minced beef, pepperoni, slivers of onion and melted cheese on a bed of tomato sauce, the pizza lent a smokiness that is inimitable with a regular oven. The heat of a brick oven results in a crispy yet tender crust and perfectly cooked toppings, creating a unique flavor profile that enthusiasts appreciate. The pièce de résistance of the pizza was the soft and airy puffy rim with scorches. 

 

Jack & Chic (RM32.00)

Who doesn’t like Jackfruit? Call me bias, but I love everything with Jackfruit. It released an unique aroma and fruity sweetness that I simply adored and it complemented the mild tasting chicken chunks beautifully.

Verdict: I was impressed, to say the least. My dinner at Dante Carlos Pizzeria was almost perfect, from the wonderful food, affordable pricing and warm service. I’ll definitely be back for more!
