Doni Korean BBQ @ Wisma Menjalara, Bandar Menjalara, Kepong

To celebrate hubby’s birthday and Father’s Day, we opted to have our dinner at Doni Korean BBQ, which is one of the Eat-All-You-Can style restaurants in this area. This restaurant is often thronged with people whenever we passed by during the weekends, so I assumed the food must be decent and value for money.

There were indoor and outdoor seating, since the weather was quite warm that day, we chose to be seated at the indoor which was air conditioned. The black themed restaurant was furnished with hanging lamp bulbs to illuminate the dining area and every table was equipped with exhaust pipe.

The charges and the menu for the food that we can order for the set price. Drink was not included, there were canned drinks, Korean Tea (from RM4-RM6), Sojus and beer (RM25-RM29) in the beverage menu.

Korean Iced Tea (RM5.00) & Bong Bong (RM6.00)

The not so impressive banchan and some condiments for the grilled meat.

Not sure what soup was this, very diluted and it was brought to our table together with the banchan.

We had all the meat from the list except the spicy chicken on our first order. We preferred the marinated meat which were more flavourful. The meat portion (per plate) was rather big, we were quite full after the first round. ⋋_⋌p

Charcoal grill for the barbecue and the grill pan can be changed upon request.

Other than the meat, we also ordered a few dishes from the menu but they weren’t good. (‘_’)

Kimchi Jjigae

Diluted and the flavour wasn’t as pronounced.

Pajeon

Nothing tickled my fancy, both texture and flavour.

Tteokbokki

It was sweet!

Their food probably needs to work on some improvement. =.=”

This was their set lunch menu served from 11am to 3pm and the set comes with 4 side dishes (banchan), rice, soup and drink.

♥ Verdict: To be honest, we were not happy that they didn’t offer complimentary drinking water like the other restaurants that we previously tried. Meat selection and quality was decent but the dishes was really a letdown.

  • The only time I wish I’m below 130cm

  • When it comes to Korean food, bbq is what I like! 😉 This all-you-can-eat buffet is really value for money, not only do you get all those meats to grill, you also get to order side dishes (with price all inclusive except for drinks). Wow, 5 plates of meat, 3 side dishes & 4 banchan for the 3 of you (that’s quite a lot leh). Although I do like charcoal grilled meats but there’s a time when the charcoal heat can get to me. >.<

  • Kris, I thought we can eat more but too bad Sam didn’t eat much ~>_<~ No matter charcoal or gas stove , they are hot >_<
