I cook: Mashed Potato
Everyone loves mashed potato, don’t you? Homemade mashed potatoes are a crowd-pleasing option for any occasion, simple accompaniment to any meal and really quick and easy to make. This time I’ll share with you the most basic mashed potato with the simplest ingredients!
Ingredients
600 – 800g potatoes (for 2 persons)
1 1/2 tablespoons of salted butter
120ml milk
Salt & black pepper
Parsley (optional)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 1: Peel the potatoes and cut them into quarters.
Step 2: In a pot, add in potato chunks (Step 1) and enough water which can cover the potatoes. Cover the lid and let simmer for about 15 – 20 minutes or until the potates are soft when pierced with a fork.
Step 3: Remove and drain the potatoes. Mash the potatoes with potato masher or spoon/fork if you don’t have a masher. I like my mashed potato remain some potato bits so I will not mash it too thoroughly.
Step 4: Stir in the butter, milk & season with salt and black pepper. Taste and adjust with additional salt and/or butter if needed.
Step 5: Sprinkled with parsley and serve.
Happy long weekends and enjoy your holidays everyone!
