La Cafe Memoire @ TTDI, K.L
A casual weekend food hunting had me at La Cafe Memoire nestled at Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI). Started as a dessert cafe and now they also serve Italian fusion cuisine to please more food enthusiastic.
Located at first floor of the shop house (same row with Surisit Thai), I was greeted by a space filled with plenty of wooden furnishing made from recycled crates once I stepped into the cafe.
Besides the distinctive rustic wooden setting, the place also heavily adorned with knick-knack, framed pieces and potted plants. Notice the vintage bicycle? ^__^
Al fresco area – Ample of natural light which is good for photographer but the weather was too hot to sit at this section. >_< Although we opted to be seated indoor for a more comfortable dining but the room temperature became warmer and warmer throughout the meal. We wished to stay longer however the stuffy environment really put me off.
Cappuccino (RM7.50)
Camomile Tea (RM5.80)
Soup of the Day (RM10.00)
Chunky, rich and creamy, this soup had all the box ticked for a good bowl of soup. We enjoyed tremendously the mushrooms bits and the delightful earthiness note.
Creamy Bacon Fettuccine (RM14.00)
Makes fresh daily, the Fettuccine has a satisfying texture and cooked to an al-dente perfection. The pasta was bathed in creamy mushroom garlic sauce and laced with generous amount of bacon bits, mushrooms and coriander. Portion was just nice, flavors was spot on and sufficiently creamy.
Deluxe Pork Burger (RM18.50)
Sandwiched in between charcoal buns, there are house made pork patty, bacon, sunny side up, lettuce, tomatoes slices and cheese. The grilled pork patty was well executed, it had a good dose of seasonings, slightly charred edges that gave this burger a nice bite.
Grilled Honey Bacon Sandwich (RM12.50)
The sandwich on the other hand was paled in comparison with the pork burger. It was mere generic and lack of a “x-factor” to appeal to me. I barely tasted any honey flavor too.
Verdict: Food wise, the flavors of the food we’ve tried was meticulously calibrated and I love the affordable price tag. I hope they can improve the ventilation of the place though. I’ve heard so much about their dessert, next visit perhaps. 🙂
The place looks dated…and deserted. The seats don’t look very comfortable? The table seems lower than the height of the baby chair? >.< Good thing is the food prices are really affordable with most under RM20.
There are more appropriate seating which I didn’t manage to take photo >_< This place not really deserted as you think, there were a few groups of patrons that day.
Heh! This place is made for midgets like ME! Why is everything so low? I wonder if normal sized person will find it comfortable with such limited leg space.
There are more appropriate seating which I didn’t manage to take photo >_< And those low seating is more for coffee drinking.
Upstairs? Sure i missed it. Lol.
I like the furnitures. Recycled boards.
So now you know there is a cafe upstairs!
It is just 10 minutes walk from my place and yet I was not aware of this place. The pork burger looked nice and the price is very reasonable too. I might try this place as I only bought burgers from KGB which has a long waiting lines daily with pricey tags.
Then you should come here for more affordable pork burger which I think is not available at KGB 😛
Looks like a tempting menu for pork lovers, especially the bacon! 😉
Haha, high five to the loveof BACON!
Fettuccine looks good, no thank you on other items
At least there is something that can attract you =.=”
