Manggis Di Palimbayan @ Kampung Palimbayan, K.L
Nestled discreetly near TTDI, one need to drive up to narrow and rocky road for about 5 minutes to reach cafe Manggis Di Palimbayan (Manggis).
Located up in the hill, Manggis is a hidden gem that offers beautiful view of lush green surroundings and allows diners immerse in the tranquil ambience of the tropical utopia.
There are usual tables and chair in the semi open dining area, balcony seating that overlooking the tropical trees, seating along the pathway with patio umbrella, as well as a more undisturbed corner on the platform that set amongst the trees.
This oasis in the city which provide a sanctuary from the bustling outside world is just 10 minutes drive from the buzzing TTDI and 1 Utama Shopping Centre.
The one-page menu features a rather limited choices of western delight such as soup, salads, pastas, mains and desserts. Price is on the high side considering the setting of the cafe and the food portion (check out the food photos below).
Complimentary drinks (included those 3-in-1 premixed drinks), biscuits and banana on the counter.
Salmon Teriyaki Salad (RM28.00)
Basically it just a pile of fresh lettuce, topped with a small piece of grilled Salmon steak then drizzled with LOTS of thousand island and Teriyaki sauce. I scrapped off Oh yeah, there were diced fruits (apple and other which I cannot remember) to provide crunchy element and the much needed acidic note.
Barbequed Grilled Chicken (RM38.00)
The pan seared chicken chop was in smallish size, rather nicely cooked with succulent meat. The dressing was savoury with hint of black pepper flavour, a good change to the usual black pepper sauce. The sides included slightly coleslaw, diced fruits, grilled cauliflower and undercooked fries =.=”
Seafood Aglio Olio (RM28.00)
Studded with spices, herbs and chopped capsicums, the pasta was quite oily and it packed a fiery punch. There were three pieces of prawns and a few squid rings.
Other than serves meal, Manggis also offers activities like archery, karaoke and ATV riding, just to name a few.
Verdict: I think food does not the main attraction at Manggis but if you love being around nature, you may check out this place.

Yeah, the food portions are definitely on the smallish side but they make up for it with complimentary drinks, biscuits and bananas instead? Hee…hee! 😉 Judging from the photos of the food, you’re right to say that food is not the main attraction here.
Kris, I rather they serve me bigger portion food, haha!
Got such place at TTDI? O.o I need to explore more.
