Pak Putra Tandoori & Naan @ Jalan Laksamana, Melaka
I’ve heard so much about Pak Putra Tandoori & Naan. Many say that the best naan and tandoori in Melaka (or Malaysia?) can be found here & I finally paid them a visit during my previous Melaka trip.

We reached here circa 8pm+ after our dinner and the place was packed to the gills, both indoor and al-fresco. We tried to get a table at the long stretch of tables placed by roadside because the indoor seat was quite warm and stuffy. Unfortunately we only manage to secure a table in the restaurant.

Cheese Naan
Our naan reached pipping hot after more than 30 minutes of waiting (if my memory serves me right :P) Served with a small plate of diluted dhal, the naan was fluffy with pleasant smoky taste from the charred edges.

Tandoori Chicken
A sizable piece of chicken dressed in red, it was amazingly tender and moist, definitely one of the best I’ve tried! The only gripe was the marinade not really well infused into the meat rendering the flavor was bordered on bland. Dunk the chicken into the mint sauce accompanied for a more satisfying flavors.

Even the paying counter was in long queue >///<
Verdict: Definitely worth a visit if you are fan of naan and tandoori. I wish I can get such a great version at Klang Valley, any recommendation?

OMG! I’ma huge fan of Naan! The one at Sri Ananda Bahwan is decent too (in Pg)!
I am a huge fan of Tandoori Naan even though I often suffered from flatulence after eating them. I will try this Melaka outlet next time.
I would vote the new outlet in Uptown as the best for Roti Chanai / Naan as the queue is similar like Melaka’s. I forgot the name but this shop is along the same stretch with Maybank in Uptown.
Is it Ratha Raub? I love their roti canai, fried chicken, curry chicken, nasi lemak…oops, I’ve named too many already! ;D
You mean Ratha Raub serve good naan too?
I usually don’t order tandoori chicken coz the versions I’ve tried are usually on the dry side! π
I want to know good place for tandoori chicken and naan at Klang Valley too ~.~
I think it’s been way too many weeks since I last had tandoori chicken!

Recently, I tried naan at Arabian Knight at Tanjung Minyak Melaka. I love the naan…it’s very soft ! My children like it very much.
Anonymous, oh really? Marked it down and will try it out on my next Melaka visit. TQ for the recommendation π
