Restoran Satay Putera Kajang @ Kajang

It was the first day of 2025.

We went for the LRT ride from our house to Kajang and vice versa to let Sam familiarize with the route to and fro her new school.

Since we seldom explore to Kajang, we took this opportunity to savour the must try delicacy of Kajang – Satay. There are many Satay restaurants and stalls in the town, Satay Putera Kajang was our option because its strategic location which is right in front of Stadium Kajang MRT station.

The restaurant has two entrance with one right in front of the MRT station, by the river and this is another entrance facing the main road.

We were greeted by this amiable staff who was grilling the Satay at the barbeque pit.

The interior of restaurant is very Instagramable, featuring vibrant mural, colourful umbrellas “sky”, bottles of different shapes and framed artworks decorate the walls, and there’s even a mottled wall with invasive roots. A mix of indoor (with and without air conditioning) and outdoor seating are available to cater different preferences.

Kopi-Kaw (RM5.90) & soft drink (RM4.30)

Satay Ayam (RM1.80/skewer) & Satay Kambing (RM2.70/skewer)

The Satay are grilled to order on the charcoal barbeque pit, imparting an irresistible smoky aroma on each skewer. The marinade of the meat was quite spot on with an unmistakably taste of spices and herbs. Both chicken and lamb were tender and I really glad to find out that there weren’t any burnt edges on the Satay.

The warm Satay peanut sauce was served in a plastic cup, which was thick, nutty, and bursting with flavor. The requisite condiments of cucumber and onion were fresh.

Hubby also ordered Otak-Otak (RM1.80/pcs) which I thought was forgettable. (¬_¬)

Verdict: The purpose of this scouting trip was accomplished with bonus of a rather pleasant Satay afternoon tea session.   ✧*。(∩^o^)⊃━☆°.*

  • I remember having satay in Kajang run by a Chinese family and the satay sauce (with pineapple) was very good, so were the grilled chicken wings (sadly, they’re no longer around though). If you didn’t mention you ordered both ayam & kambing satay, I would have thought they were the same (they look similar from their colour). I would prefer some charred edges/lines on my satay….coz that’s what make satay…satay…lol!
