Roti Canai Pak Tam @ Sitiawan, Perak
On our second day at Sitiawan, we were brought to this “special” Malay stall for breakfast.
Nestled in Kampung Sitiwan, Roti Canai Pak Tam was thronged with the huge breakfast crowd when we reached there 9am+. I’m sure you can’t see any special about this place from these two photos, right? Scroll down…
The stall is built on the river (Sungai Sitiawan I assumed ◔_◔) with a view of mangroves and fishing boats docking at the small jetty beside the dining area. How often you can have such scenery while eating your Roti Canai and Nasi Lemak? (⌒▽⌒)
The food offered was quite limited and they ran out of Nasi Lemak during our visit. Food was just mediocre and really nothing to shout about. The real deal of this place undoubtedly the river view!
We got these packed Nasi Lemak (with banana leaf! \(^ω^\) from another stall at outside. There were several stalls operating along the street selling food such as Malay kuih, fresh seafood as well as dried seafood. My friend and I got some pretty good quality dried anchovies and salted fish which is from Pulau Pangkor.
Verdict: Food was not really remarkable but the breakfast by the river experience was not something you usually can get in the city.

I was hoping it’ll be slightly cheaper, apparently the view fetched a higher price. hahah.
With WCE opening soon I think this place will get a boost.
KY, I have no complaint about the price though, hehe 😛
wow so niceee…. its look so tasty
Hi Siti, the food was just okay, to be honest but the view did compensated a bit lah, hehe 😛
Gosh, I haven’t eaten roti canai in a long time. Yes, the river view is nice. If your ever go to Kuala Terengganu, visit Payang Serai. The food is very good and you get nice river view too.
PH, I think I never been to Terengganu and I definitely would like to pay a visit one day, I like Keropok Lekor!
Luckily outside food is allowed….so you get to have some nasi lemak bungkus! 😉
Kris, perhaps they are too busy to bother if the diners bring in outside food. LOL
it would be lovely if we had a nice river in kl with some pedestrian walks and eateries beside it 🙂
Sean, definitely not a bad idea but provided the river is clean and odourless, LOL
I agree that the river view is great to relax and eat slowly. Never mind the food quality! LOL
TM, food doesn’t matter for this case, as long as it’s edible, hehe ^__^
