Sausage KL @ Holiday Place Hotel, Jalan Ampang, K.L
Located in an unlikely place at Jalan Ampang, Holiday Place Hotel to be precise (which I didn’t know about its existence until I was brought there), Sausage KL aims to offer their customers a decent range of freshly made sausages, burger patties and other homemade delights.
Started as a home-based sausage maker, this brainchild of married couple, Matthew and Nova Kerr is now a cafe-cum-kitchen which serves all-day-breakfast and variety of burgers, mains and of course the homemade sausages that they’re proud of.
The location of cafe is slightly hidden (at the back of Holiday Place) but I was surprised by the crowd when I arrived with majority of them were foreigners.
The setting was minimalist with simple tables and chairs arranged sparingly in the dining area. The cafe also features a semi-open kitchen, small reading corner as well as take away area with freezer filled assorted homemade sausages, patties and nuggets. The space was well illuminated with lots of natural light.
The menu
The American (RM30.00)
The Full English (RM28.00)
The Scottish (RM28.00)
Nothing to shout about for the usual fried egg (which was all perfectly done, I must reckon) hash brown, bacon and baked beans but there was one food in The Scottish platter that intrigued my interest – tattie scones. Also known as potato scones, fadge or potato bread, it is a regional variant of the savoury griddle scone which is especially popular in Scotland. Tattie scone is totally different with the traditional British scone that you familiar with, but more of a potato pancake made with mashed potato, butter, plain flour and with salt to taste. It had a slightly chewy texture.
We had two types of sausages that day but I’m sorry to tell that I forgot which we had. ๑•́ㅿ•̀๑) The first sausage was fragrant studded with plenty of herbs while the other one had a compact texture which I adored. Both were adequately seasoned, tasty yet not too salty.
Some delights can you can bring back and enjoy them home.
♥Verdict: If you enjoy homemade sausages with no preservatives, no chemicals, less fillers and more meat, Sausage KL is well worth check out place for you. They also have blood pudding/black pudding, a British delicacy of sausage made from pig’s blood which is not really commonly available in KL.

Wow! Sausages! I like their menu and the prices are still affordable for that upscale vicinity. Nowadays I seldom see this type of menu as the local cafes prefer fusion.
Thanks for sharing this.
TM, hopefully you can try out this place soon with your wifey 🙂
I first heard of this place from Sean. Looking at the prices, they seem a little pricey seeing that those breakfast platters can be easily replicated at home just by buying their sausages…haha! 😉 I’m assuming the sausages are pre-cooked already since I don’t see much charring on the skin. Those tattie scones I thought were french toast initially…lol.
Kris, actually the sausages arrived on our table pipping hot 😛 Maybe you’re true, purchase the sausages and cook at home is cheaper option 🙂
Looks macam wholesome! Too bad ampang is now a bit too far to “cecah”
KY, Ampang for you is quite far, perhaps you can visit after the CMCO 🙁
